[Moments Earlier]
A battlefield is chaos.
It is a wide layout of destruction. And as such, it requires capable soldiers to be strategically spread out in the canvas of carnage in order for it truly to be called a battle.
Different brigades are led by competent leaders, and they handle various battle positions while properly sticking to the established formation.
Every role is important or crucial, and is required to remain firm, from the vanguard, to the flanks, to the rear defenses and support. Otherwise, failure is inevitable.
That is the nature of war.
And Conquest knew this well. He had analyzed the battle and weighed his results. These humans had acted faster than expected, and not only that, they were pretty merciless and brutally efficient. The human army they fight, or rather, massacred in this world and many others, would typically spend time mourning tragedies, adjusting to the shock, and coping with the crisis.
But these humans were simply indifferent.
He ordered the demon army to be deployed separately, maintaining a distance of no less than five meters between each soldier. He had decided to launch the attack from two kilometers away to start running. There was no problem in that as these demons never experienced fatigue the same as undead. However, he was confident that the humans' weapons wouldn't inflict significant damage on the stronger demons. Still, they could potentially fall due to accumulated damage. He had witnessed these weapons obliterate a Possessed human, so perhaps less than a hundred shots would be enough to take down a demonic knight.
The demon charge continued to advance, with a considerable distance still separating them from the enemy lines. The sandbags and trenches caught his attention. While typically pointless in battle, with these weapons, their purpose became clear. It indicated that the humans heavily relied on ranged attacks. If the demons could reach melee range, victory would be theirs.
Conquest had expected these humans to have some hidden advantage or triumph card, but this was unforeseen. He had only received information about the weapons they used in the city where they were summoned. But seeing the vastness of their arsenal, he made a mental note of it.
But this development was still within his expectations.
After all, this was an experiment. A testing ground to see how these humans were able to defend against this demon wave. If he wanted to, he could destroy this city with no problem.
But the only thing that he didn't expect was these ten powerful humans, who managed to eradicate thousands of demons and killed dozens of noble-class ones despite the lack of mana or any weapons imbued with magic or possessing any form of supernatural/cosmic power. If he compared them to any strong humans he knew, they were probably as strong as the Human Heroes on that one world he had invaded.
At that moment, he noticed the flying machines approaching his direction. Conquest would have loved to study them further, to learn more about their technology. Even for the Demonic Angels or Dragons, achieving supersonic speeds would have been challenging unless using a skill.
And those weapons of mass destruction that nearly decimated the demon army and slightly injured the Demon Lord. They were a threat. If these humans possessed more weapons like those, they could pose significant danger, even for Archdemons like him.
Still, even if they decimate millions of their demon army, these demons were disposable, easy to replace, and very low cost.
"Well... it's time to spice things up a bit."
