Heading back home, you thought about what Cas said. You and Dean had your moments, but it was mostly just yelling matches and dirty looks. Maybe that was on you for not listening to his concerns.

When you got back to the bunker, you unpacked the groceries with the help of Cas, dropping off your shopping bags in your room, and then brought an apple pie with two forks to his room.

"Dean?" You called softly after knocking twice.

The door swung open, making you jump back slightly, and Dean eyed you curiously before he landed on the pie.

"Two forks?" He asked with a quirked eyebrow and you grimaced.

"Can I come in?" You asked, holding up the pie, "Peace offering?"

"Can't say no to pie." He huffed with a chuckle, opening the door wider and gesturing you to come in.

Used to hanging out in motel rooms, you instantly crawled onto the side of the bed and set the pie down in front of you, off to the middle.

He sat next to you, both of your backs against the headboard, as you opened it and silently passed him a fork.

"So," He started after taking a bite and humming in satisfaction, "'Peace offering'? Date with Cas must've gone well." He grumbled, not enjoying the idea of his best friend dating you.

"It did," You smiled, not noticing how it bothered him, "Made me realize that you and I fight a lot and I would like to change that."

"You're gonna stop going on solo hunts?" He perked up, taking another bite after asking.

"Hell no," You immediately responded, making him frown, "But I'd like to calmly hear your side."

"Okay," He cleared his throat, thinking of how to word what he said next, "You're careless. You hunt and sure you've been surviving for over a decade like you said, but you almost died from those vamps. That was the dumbest move I think I've ever seen a hunter make. Except maybe when those two killed me and Sam, but still they had a reason."

"Those two that came after Sam because of the apocalypse?"

"Yeah."

"Then helped you take down the Brits?"

"Yep."

"Alright, carry on."

"I know it's none of my business, but before we met you, didn't you care how it would affect people if you died? Like your family or friends?" He looked over to you, the pie forgotten.

"You mean like Bobby and them?"

"Yeah, and maybe your parents?" He looked at you carefully, not sure if he was overstepping.

"Same boat as you with that."

"Sorry." He breathed, running a hand down his face.

"No worries," You shifted a little, "I just don't want to hesitate. If I do, then people die, or monsters get away. Sometimes both."

"Like Eddie." He nodded, understanding.

"Yeah, if I didn't go in there he wouldn't have made it," You had a guilt stricken look across your face, "I wasn't there in time for those kids and I think about their bodies on that floor and...I can't do anything about it."

"Yeah, it's not an easy job."

"But someone's gotta do it."

After you both returned to the pie, polishing it off, but not before fighting over the last bit, you decided to watch a movie together. Both of you ventured into your room since you had the bigger TV and settled in the bed together. In the beginning of the movie you were both on your respectable sides, but by the time the credits rolled you were snuggled into his side snoring softly as he let his eyes flutter closed after wrapping his arm around you, holding you even closer.
