Some would say you were stupidly impulsive.

"Hello, hello!" You greeted the two creatures that guarded the entrance to the junkyard, "Table for one?"

Those people would be damn right.

All you had was your dagger and some makeshift items you gathered in town before heading here, but they'd have to do.

"Take her alive." The one growled to the other and you smirked.

"That won't be necessary."

The one went to grab you, but you swept his leg, so he fell to the ground and you attacked the other one. He took his time to show you his fangs, but you took the opportunity to stab the needle full of dead man's blood into his neck, making him fall limp. You whipped around and stabbed the other one in the chest before he could grab you. You repeatedly stabbed him until he fell to the ground, forming a gross puddle because he turned out to be a shifter. You then took out the axe you had in your back waistband, chopping the vamp's head off.

The trip to the morgue and outdoor hunting store really came in handy.

You panted as you left them, walking up to the main house where you assumed the big boss was.

"Hello, Detective Loggins."

"Oh, you better be joking!" You shouted with a laugh, seeing the woman who resembled the missing girl Grace, sitting on a chair that looked like a throne surrounded by five vampires.

"Afraid not." She glared at you and you shook your head.

"You're not the real Grace Hannigan," You rolled your eyes, "You're a, what? Shifter?"

"Nope." She displayed her fangs and you winced.

"The vamps changed you?" You asked and she nodded, "Dammit, I'm sorry."

"Don't be," She smiled, "Best thing that ever happened to me."

"How can you sit there and say that?" You gestured with your axe, "Your mom is torn up and even after all these years, she is desperate without you."

"You'll be quiet now."

"Your dad left her because she couldn't be helped. She's still extremely broken."

"Shut up." She grumbled.

"She misses you and I know she'd do anything to get you back so," You swallowed audibly, getting the axe and dead man's blood ready, "I'm gonna do what I can to get you back."

"You're too late, I've been a vampire for years."

"But I think you've refrained from human blood and I'm hoping it'll still work." You shrugged, lifting your axe, "So, let's do this."

"You're an idiot!" She laughed wildly and then waved her hand for them to attack.

You did your best; you really gave it your all. But five on one without something like the mark fueling you was a losing bet. You got to kill three but the other two knocked you to your knees.

"No!" You shouted when he went to bite your neck, and you assume rip out your artery.

"Why?" She mused, holding up a wine glass that you almost gagged at the thought of it being filled with blood instead of actual wine.

"I'm sorry," You choked back the blood in your mouth, "I'm sorry I didn't save you, but I tried for so long to find you and eventually I had to leave."

"You were so close," She whispered, looking away, "I was stored in this place's hidden basement and I could hear you on the phone arguing with your girlfriend. When you walked to certain areas of the room, I could even see you through the floorboards," She wiped away the tears that fell, "I tried calling out for you, but they had me gagged and tied up."
