FOWL MANOR, DUBLIN, IRELAND

"No Artemis now is not the time to bring that up. We are in the middle of a situation-"

"Butler this is extremely important. I must know the truth of my legacy, don't you see it?" said Artemis pointing to the files that were supposed to show that Artemis Fowl Senior was Artemis's father. But....

"It is evident from these that my father died at the age of 27 in a car crash and no one knows it except for my mother who has authenticated these files. So who is pretending to be my father right now?"

"Who is this person acting as your father is what we should be least worried about. Right now we need to take your brother to the hospital. And we need to stay focused." Saying this Butler left the room leaving Artemis alone with his thoughts. Ever since he had got his memory back he'd started searching more about his father and had become more attached to the goddess of wisdom, Athena.

Often in his dreams he felt that a consciousness like that of Athena was asking him to realize what he actually was. But there was nothing to realize, was it? He was Artemis Fowl, heir to the Fowl estate. But now that he carefully examined the facts, he came upon a conclusion that both he and his father had an affinity for beaches and oceans. Maybe this was the reason why nearly all of his misadventures had an oceanic hotspot in it. Even his father was lost in a shipwreck out of which only he had survived...

The ring in his hand diverted his attention which started vibrating slightly. This was a fairy transmitter that he had devised years ago. "Hello?" he asked in his slightly accented English.

"Oh! Artemis, I am glad you picked up the phone."

"Why Holly? What's the matter?"

"Well Foaly has observed some disturbances near-"

"-the Empire State building. Yes, I know and I suspect there is some different magic there. Ancient and powerful."

"Yes?! How do... leave it. I won't ask."

"Good for you." Said Artemis smirking.

"Well, so I was saying that Foaly figured out that much and Trouble wants me to investigate-"

"-yes. I know. You are going to arrive here in 5 minutes and you just called me to include me in this officially. So that I am not caught unawares? But I suggest that you turn back right now as Myles is unwell-"

"-But Artemis maybe I-"

"- no Holly! Your magic will not help. My mother is against it as I already lost my life once before due to it."

Holly kicked the accelerator and turned back thinking that, how he could predict all this, no normal human...

"Holly I know what you are thinking" said Artemis in a concerned tone "I know that no normal human would have predicted all this or said any of this, but you know soldier, I am not others."

"DeArvit, Artemis! Huh... alright tell me when to come."

"After 2 hours." Saying this Artemis hung up and hurried after Butler who took Myles to the Limo and laid him in, then he performed the usual bomb check and both took their seats. He glanced at the rear-view mirror and looked at Artemis's face. "I know that look Artemis. You've got something big coming." Artemis looked at him and his gaze silenced him. Butler did not continue because he knew that Artemis was thinking. Soon they arrived at the hospital and took Myles to their personal doctor. He said that Myles had a little flu and one day's rest was all he needed. Now Artemis took Butler aside and began in a matter-of-factly and anxious voice.

"Butler we need to leave Juliet here with Myles and I need to ask my mother some questions."

The tall Eurasian could not understand Artemis's anxiety but he looked the same as he had at the age of 12, when his mother had not recognised him, when he had almost lost all hope of finding his father. When he had thought everything was over.

"Artemis I can feel the air if adventure from the look of your eyes. I know that Holly called you. Aren't you up to something?"

"You have no idea." Said Artemis. He had this crazy theory in his mind which he didn't know was about to come true in 24 hours.
