A smile lit up Siya's face, as she got dressed up to go out with Zoya, putting some kajal on. She eyed herself, and gave herself a flying kiss. "Waah, Siya, Waah! You look so beautiful, yaar, I love you!" She squealed simping on herself, before her eyes did a once over and she frowned. "My ear feels empty!"

She opened her drawer, her eyes falling on a pair of black oxidised jhumkis.

Siya was about to put on her headphones when she heard Suhani bhabhi speak up with a smile as she did her work glancing at her husband. "Siya, there's something for you on that dining table. A parcel it seems."

Siya glanced at them confused but nodded, "Okay bhabhi." Her eyes fell on a box, which was opened with a note in it.

Aap dukhi na hua kare,
Chehre pe hasi zyada jajjti hai.

A blush rose on her cheeks on it's own, as she looked at the jhumkis. Her eyes looking in the mirror, biting her lips as she stared at herself.

Indeed bohot Sundar lagrahi hai aap, meri Jaan...

His voice rang in her ears, she looked down embarrased. She quickly picked up the Jhumkis, putting them on and then skipped downstairs. Aradhya looked at her with a frown, sternly asking, "Kaha ja Rahi ho?"

Siya stopped, turning back to look at her mother at her words. She smiled stiffly, feeling guilty, "Maa, You know there's this movie that's recently come out...," Aradhya suddenly looked at her with hostility, "With who?"

Siya looked down, her heart sinking. "With,...Zoya, Maa." Her voice was low, as if unsure. Siya had never been asked so before, there had always been some kind of trust in her mother for her. Now..., it seemed as if it all fell down.

"Maa, kabhi mujhe ya Nishant Bhai ko pucha tha, jab ham bahar jaate the toh?" A voice sounded behind Aradhya, that made Siya look up. Indar softened at the redness in Siya's eyes. He spoke, "Tu Jaa, tiny. If you need money anywhere, call me."

Siya hesitated before she walked out, looking down in a hurry. She didn't have the heart to watch anymore.
His eyes sliding to his mother when she spoke, "Tum dono ki baat alag thi, Indar. Siya--"

He cut her off, "Siya is far better than us. School, college, society, and even relationships, har jagah clean chit rahi hai." His mother looked at him and burst out, "Usne kabhi hamari izzat-"

He cut her off, "Doobne nahi di. Hamesha sir ucha rakha, galat tha kya?"

Indar looked at their mother, finally speaking up. "Maa, ab toh chhod do bechari ko." Aradhya glared at him, "nahi nahi, ab toh sab maharani ki side lengi. Devi hai na woh toh."

Indar's jaw clenched, as he bit out. "Devi hi hai, itna sab kuch kehne ke baad bhi aapki khushiyon ke liye zindagi sacrifice karne nikal padi." He stared at his mother disappointed, "Kya hogaya aapko, maa? Aapki toh Jaan thi na, chhoti?"
