Heeseung had taken the day off, a gesture that made Sunoo feel cherished and special. However, instead of spending the day together, Heeseung was holed up in his office inside their mansion, catching up on some work.
Sunoo sat in the living room, draped in his boyfriend's long hoodie, the fabric offering a comforting embrace. The scent of him lingering on it should have been soothing, but today, Sunoo's mind was too occupied to find solace in it.
As he sat in front of the TV, it's colorful images and sounds were mere background noise to his turbulent thoughts. He couldn't focus on the program, not with the message from last night haunting him.
Those few syllables-"Don't trust Heeseung"-kept echoing in his mind, weighing heavily on his heart.
"Why would someone send me such a message?" he muttered to himself, his voice barely audible. He had blocked the unknown number immediately after reading the message, hoping it was just a cruel prank.
But who could know his number and want to disturb his peace like this? The more he thought about it, the more unsettling it became. Sunoo sighed deeply, his gaze drifting towards Heeseung's office door.
He could see his boyfriend through the slightly ajar door, typing furiously on his laptop with a focused frown etched on his face. Heeseung looked so serious, so dedicated to whatever task he was working on. This sight usually reassured Sunoo, reminding him of how hardworking and dependable his boyfriend is. But today, it only added to his confusion.
His mind swirled with anxious thoughts. What if the message was true? What if Heeseung was hiding something from him? Sunoo felt his chest tighten with worry. He didn't want to doubt Heeseung, didn't want to believe that the man he love could be untrustworthy. Yet, the message had planted a seed of doubt, and it was growing despite his attempts to ignore it.
"Why now?" he whispered, rubbing his temples in frustration. "Why did this have to happen now, when everything is going so well?"
His anxiety was evident while his fingers fidgeted with the hem of the hoodie, his knee bouncing up and down restlessly. He couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled in his stomach.
But then, as his eyes settled once again on Heeseung's focused figure, something shifted. Heeseung's dedication, his intense concentration, his unwavering commitment to his work and their relationship-it all spoke volumes about his character. Sunoo took a deep breath, allowing himself to absorb the sight of his boyfriend.
"He's doing all of this for us." Sunoo reminded himself softly. "Everything Heeseung does is for our future, for my happiness."
Sunoo felt a wave of calm wash over him, the tension in his muscles easing slightly. He knew Heeseung loved him deeply, and he loved Heeseung just as much.
Whatever the mysterious message meant, he knew that Heeseung would never intentionally hurt him.
"I should trust him." he thought, his resolve strengthening. "I can't let some anonymous message ruin what we have."
Doubting his boyfriend would mean doubting the foundation of their relationship, something Sunoo wasn't ready to do.
He got up from the couch and walked towards the office, pausing at the doorway. Heeseung looked up, sensing his presence, and their eyes met. There was a moment of silence, filled with unspoken understanding and reassurance.
"Hey, kitten." Heeseung said softly, his expression softening as he looked at Sunoo.
"Everything okay?" he asked again and the youger nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Yeah, just needed to see you."
