Chapter V

Silentpaws ears perked up. "Oh its you." She looked puzzled trying to recall his name. "What are you doing here Reddish." she said with ammusment in her meow. "Its Cinderpaw!" the tom hissed, his claws digging into the dirt. "Ah~ that was ur name. Totally forgot it." She snapped back. "But thanks for the compliment earlier" she smirked. Before Cinderpaw could answer, Sharpglows voice echoes through the woods. "Cinderpaw! Get back here!". Cinderpaw tucked his tail between his legs. "Ohhh looks like someone is in trouble." Silentpaw teased him. "Watch your tongue, fishbreath." He hissed and wanted to step closer, but his clans deputy called again. Silentpaw stuck her tongue out, as Cinderpaw left.

She then grabbed her fresh kill and went to find her sister and their mentors. Together they went back to the camp. Silentpaw ofcouse complained to Lightpaw about the red tom. "And then he called me Fishbreath! Ugh. For cosmicclans sake, if he had stepped over the border, i would have torn his fur off!" Silentpaw was usually a soft tempered cat. But somehow this male-cat got her fuming with anger. Lightpaw placed her tail on her clanmates shoulder to calm her down. Silentpaw sighed and layed down next to her.
"Can you be quiet?" Maypaw hissed. A white paw hit over Maypaws ear. "oh c'mon Mrs Princess~" Stormpaw purred jokingly. "She is just letting off steam. Im sure its over soon." Maypaw snarled and turned her back to them. Stormpaw rolled her eyes and went to sleep herself.

Lightpaw and Silentpaw layed side by side sleeping as the sun began to rise. The leafes at the entrance rustled and Roseleaf stuck her head inside. "Lynxpaw, lightpaw and Silentpaw. come outside please, we are waiting. we are going on a morning patrol. "All of us? aint that a bit much?" Lynxpaw shook the moss out of her fur. "Yes all of you. its a big patrol today now wake the others and come out." the Beautiful she-cat left the Den and Lynxpaw woke Lightpaw and Silentpaw from their slumber. Together they walked outside and greeted their mentors. Silentpaw watched as Lynxpaw went to her mentor Eagletalon, her and Stormpaws Father.

"Lets get going. We should be at the Mythclan border at Sunhigh." Eagletalon walked ahead followed by his apprentice. Lightpaw and Silentpaw went shoulder on shoulder infront of their mentors. They passed the sunny rocks and walked alongside the trees of the forest. short for sunhigh they reached the Old fruit tree near the shipwreck. The mentors send their apprentice out for hunting. Lynxpaw went alone to the beach and Lightpaw and silentpaw went into the woods. Due to having no voice, lightpaw was a great huntress. she had killed her second bird by the time silentpaw had cought a squirl. "Good job Lightpaw! Roseleaf will be proud." Lightpaw nodded at the compliment of her clanmate. She burried her pray and the two went deeper into the forest.

Suddenly Lightpaws ears perked up in alert. She mentioned silentpaw to sniff the air. "Mythclan...." Silentpaw whispered and Lightpaw nodded. "In our territory? Not a chance." her tail flicked around at her urge to protact her territory and clan but lightpaw held her to the ground and gestured to get their mentors. "Ok. but one should stay and keep watch. i can-" But lightpaw cut silentpaw off and motioned her to go. Silentpaw looked at her with worry in her eyes, then nodded. "Ill be back in a leap" than she was off.

Back at the old tree the four cats devoured their freshkill. "Iceflower! Iceflower!" silentpaw called out and the blue cat raised her head. "What is it silentpaw." She asked
"Mythclan. Lightpaw and i smelled them in the forest." The older warriors looked at each other in shock. "Are you sure?" Roseleaf asked quickly, worry laying in her voice. "Yes one-hundred percent. We have to go!" Lynxpaw was quickly by her side. Eagletalon and Iceflower looked at each other before jumping up and running to the forest following Silentpaws scent not short followed by the other tree cats.

As they got closer they heared cats hissing and Silentpaw ran faster. As she broke through the leafwall, she saw Lightpaw pressed to the ground, her neck bleeding. She threw herself at the Cat holding her friend burrying her teeth and claws in the others fur, not soon after the rest of the Coveclan patrol threw themself into battle. "Get off of my friend!" Silentpaw hissed, while biting the others shoulder. "Get off of me!" The cat under her hissed. Silentpaws eyes opened in shock and her grip loosening, giving the cat time to attack. "Ugh!" she hissed. "Well look who it is." The voice was mocking. "Cinderpaw. you really dared to step a paw in Coveclan territory. You will pay for this!" Silentpaw hissed and charged at him. The two Cats wrestled on the ground, Silentpaw threw a hit on Cinderpaws nose while he clawed her side.

The battle was heated, Fur flying around, cats hissing and some crying out in pain. Lightpaw and silentpaw were attacking cinderpaw. Suddenly there was a loud, deafening Howl, Then there was death silence till Roseleafs shrill scream was heared. "EAGLETALON!" Silentpaws blood froze as she turned around to see the horrifying scene. Eagletalon hung limp in the Jaws of the Mythclan Deputy Sharpglow, blood dropping from her gray fur into a red puddle on the dirty ground.
Iceflower bared her fangs and was ready to throw herself at the redish cat, but silentpaw was quicker and threw herself at the Felines head scratching her face. Sharpglow yelped and let the body go she was holding to attack silentpaw. she hit her on her legs and threw her off.

Lightpaw ran over to Silentpaws body and checked on her friend. When she saw her friend was breathing she let out a sigh of relief.
"Let this be a message from Mythclan. This Pineforest will be part of our territory. If not we will kill again." Sharpglow hissed. Iceflower wanted to jump her, but was held back by Roseleaf. "Do you want to die too?!" She hissed, her voice filled with panic. Iceflower shook her head, then Mythclan left, leaving blood and death behind...
