THE NEXT MORNING
AT ADELAIDE COTTAGE
I: we're back
George: mommy it's nice to see you again
I: for me too honey , did you miss me?
Charlotte: yeah of course, where's daddy?
I: he's talking to grandpa, you go and play in the garden, daddy and i will join you soon
George: is everything okay mommy?
I: yes why are you asking me this question?
Charlotte: because these days grandpa, camilla, aunt autumn and uncle peter are very agitated
I: don't worry honey , i'm sure it won't be anything important, now i'd better go to grandpa and your father
George: come lottie let's go play in the garden
Charles: how did the return trip go? how are you with your pregnancy?
I: there were some ups and downs but everything was fine
William: what happened here instead? why all this secrecy?
Charles: your grandmother asked me to be as confidential as possible on the phone but now that you are here again i can tell you everything
Camilla: charles stop beating around the bush and tell them
Charles: it's not an easy thing to say
William: okay both of you stop and tell us what's going on
Charles: there were some problems with sophie and zara's pregnancies
I: what kind of problems?
Camilla: unfortunately both sophie and zara had two miscarriages
William: how are they now?
I: how do you think they are? for a woman, especially a mother, it is not easy to lose the baby before it is even born or have a complicated pregnancy
Charles: why do you say this? did something happen while you were travelling?
William: while we were in sweden leonor still didn't feel well so we called a doctor and the doctor advised us against having another baby after this one is born
Camilla: why's that?
I: because he said that this pregnancy could become dangerous for both me and the baby due to hyperemesis gravida
William: can't we go visit them and see how they're doing?
I: yes, it's a good idea
Charles: it's better if just the two of you go
William: are you sure dad? we can bring the children if you and camilla want to rest after looking after them these days
Camilla: don't worry, the children can stay here with us, we felt younger with them here
I: thank you
William: then we will go to zara first and then to sophie
AT GATCOMBE PARK
Peter: will, leo have you heard?
William: yes my father told us as soon as we arrived this morning
I: but what happened?
Autumn: Zara unfortunately lost her baby a few days ago, the strange thing is that she was a few weeks pregnant
William: how is she and mike?
Peter: this moment certainly isn't easy for them
I: did mia know?
Autumn: yes she was one of the first people to know after my mother in law and the queen of course
William: poor mia, she always wanted a little brother or sister
Peter: now she stays at our house with savannah and isla
Zara: what are you guys doing here?
William: we were worried about you, we came to see how you were and to find out what had happened
Zara: finally after almost three years after mia's birth, i was pregnant again for a few weeks but unfortunately a few days ago right before christmas eve, i lost the baby in a miscarriage
Mike: in fact tomorrow we will not participate in the christmas mass
Peter: we understand it perfectly
I: zara i'm so sorry, i can't imagine what you're going through right now but know that for anything you can count on us
Autumn: she's right, we are a family
Zara: thank you for your support i really need it now more than ever
William: we leave you alone
Mike: thank you for coming
Peter: of course
AT BAGSHOT PARK
William: aunt anne what are you doing here?
Anne: i came to see how edward and sophie are doing, but what are you two doing here? shouldn't you be in denmark?
I: as soon as we knew something important had happened we returned as soon as possible
Anne: did you go to visit zara?
William: yes, she told us what happened
I: peter told us that mia is now staying at their house
Anne: yes, but tonight i'll pick her up and take her to my house
Edward: thanks for coming
I: how is sophie?
Edward: she is resting now
William: what happened?
Edward: she lost the baby, in the form of an ectopic pregnancy, sophie received life-saving surgery in connection with the pregnancy
Anne: we're so sorry, how did louise and james take it?
Edward: obviously not well but they understood that there was nothing they could do
I: now it's better if we leave you alone
Edward: thank you
