Please Say Yes Already My Knee Hurts

**3RD POV**

6 more months passed and Aria and Finnick settled in together nicely. 

The outside world wasn't all that great.

Gale had accidentally killed Prim, turning half the nation against him. Katniss had killed Coin to prove Panem was done with double-sided leaders. Paylor was voted the new president of Panem, destroying the games and creating memorials for those who had died in the arena. Katniss and Peeta were sent back to 12 after she was deemed unsuitable for trial. 

Aria and Finnick were able to retreat to a secluded place, Paylor promising to leave them alone and giving them her best wishes.

Aria had no real attachment to District 5, so they went to 4 where Finnick could stay in touch with the ocean.

Aria and Finnick had no plans to get pregnant, instead watching over the kids who'd parents had died from the war. 

They used the victors home to house the children, the other victors from 4 and 5 who had survived coming to help.

Together, they lived in a small house outside of the main town, right on the beach.

All seemed to be well.

**ARIA'S POV**

I was sitting on the beach, watching Finnick swim in the ocean.

He'd taken me in a few times, but he always had to carry me.

Finnick ran out of the ocean, shaking the water off him like a dog and grinning.

"The water's great today." 

I laughed as he shook water on me, "I can tell."

Finnick and I had overcome a lot of big problems in the last year.

Me becoming paralyzed.

The war and moving back out to 4.

Finding out Finnick had been used as a slave to Snow and the Capitol.

Much more too.

He sat down next to me on the sand, stretching out as the sun began to set.

"I love you sugar cube." He said, laying his head on my lap.

I smiled, running my fingers through his hair, "I love you too."

"Hey sweets?" 

"Mhm?" I looked down at Finnick but he stood up.

He got down on one knee and pulled out a ring.

My eyes widened, tears gathering in them.

"Aria Triank, you are the sweetest, kindest, sometime scariest but not really, funniest person I have ever met. I can't imagine life without you. Will you marry me?"

A tear slipped out and I laughed, wiping it away, "Seriously? You're not joking?"

He shook his head, "Please say yes already my knee hurts." 

I laughed and nodded, "Of course.." He stood up and slipped the pearl ring around my left ring finger.

He pulled me into a tight hug, kissing me and then lifting me into the air, spinning me around, "God you have no idea how happy you make me."

"Finnick!" I laughed.

There was footsteps from behind us and the local kids, crashing into us and hugging us. 

Finnick got knocked over and so did I, but we laughed and let the kids climb on us.

If you had told me a year ago that I'd be engaged to Finnick Odair, I probably would've thrown something at you.

But now?

Now I couldn't be happier that I finally had someone who understands me.

Someone who loves me.
