Normal POV (finally)
As dawn approached, no feast or words of song sang, only silence. Silence for the fallen, for the heroes of this realm. Last night was definitely a very long night, after the battle everyone got cleaned up and gathered all of our dead. In fact I don't believe anyone got any sleep last night, I sure in fact didn't. The North lost many good men, as did we. We lost 80 good men out of 700, 80 good pirates fighting against me.
Smithy and everyone attempts to comfort me, but my guilt and my shame weight to much for them to lift it up. These men before me, dead yet honorable men, died because of me. If it weren't for me, they would've defeated the Dead faster and so many would be saved. Jorah would've been saved.
My Dragon and I stood before Jorah, preparing our goodbyes. My Dragon trembling at the sight of her most dearest and loyal friend. He was there for her since the beginning, protected her when I wasn't there, comforted her, loved her. Leaving me forever in debt. As for my Dragon, she has not said a word of last night, after Jorah died she fell into silence. Even when we laid together, we did not change our clothes nor did we bathe. We just laid there, gathering the events that happened. Our only source of comfort to each other, being our hands intertwined throughout the night. Never letting go.
Till this morning when My Dragon lets go of my hand and approaches his body, her body shaking as she tries to hold her tears. Trying so hard to show strength in front of others, in front of me. Before she slowly leans towards his head, and places a kiss. A kiss of gratefulness, of goodbye, and love. Before pulling away, she leans her lips down to his ear and whispers so softly, even I could not hear her. Sharing her parting words that only he could hear.
As she pulls away and returns to my side, it was my turn to say goodbye. I hesitate from my spot, feeling nothing the guilt in me fill my body, before taking a deep breath and approached his cold body. Tears begin to seep through as I look at his pale and lifeless face, clutching my fist so tight to control my sobs. Before uncleching my right hand to place on his heart, that had no beat or warmth. As I place my forehead on his, closing my eyes as I silently said my goodbyes.
"You kept your promise....You kept your oath.....Thank you, you old geezer." I whispered before placing a kiss upon his head. Pulling away I walk back towards my Dragon, who twines her hand with mine, before we walk back over to Grey worm and the others. Smithy standing beside Tyrion to my left, with the crew behind him, all silent in respect. Even Sparrow.
Taking a breath of the cold, bitter air, I look over at all of the good men that we have lost. Thousands who gave their lives for this messed up world, is this what it means to rule a kingdom? To grow attachment with the people that you've known for years, only for them to die horrible deaths. God knows what's going to happen when we take Kings landing, but what I know is that Jorah wanted his queen on that chair, and Fucking hell I am going to give it to her.
"We are here to say goodbye to our fellow brother's and sisters. To our fathers and Mothers. To our friends." Snow begins to speak, starting his farewell speech.
"Our fellow men and women, who set aside their differences, to fight together. And die together, so that others might live. Everyone in this world, owes them a debt that can be never be repaid. It is our duty and our honor to keep them alive in memory. To those who come after us, and those who come after them. For as long men draw breath. They were the shields that guarded the realms of men, and we shall never see their light again." Snow finishes his speech, before grabbing his torch. To which everyone begin to grab their own, an unsullied walking towards me and my Dragon with one.
I look at the torch and grabbed it, before looking down at my Dragon, who stands frozen. Griping my left hand tightly, drawing my strength to keep herself from breaking. I rub my thumb over her knuckles, giving her comfort, as she relaxes. Before handing the torch to her.
