Good.

That was the last word he said to me before we had to go home for the summer. The summer that everything changed apparently. The summer that changed him. We came back to school and everything was different. A bad different. He hasn't said a word to me. So technically we haven't broken up.

"I'm sure he has a huge surprise for you", My best friend Kate says to me on our way to our first class of the day.

"I'm not so sure..."

"Y/n you should hear the way he talks about you-"

"That was last year"

"Y/n he was in love. Feelings like that don't just change over 3 months. Trust me"

We walk into class and the first person I see is Mattheo. Sitting at a desk looking lost in thought. I can feel his eyes on me when I sit down. I look over at him and he immediately looks away. When the class was finally over I felt someone grab my wrist.

"Y/n we need to talk....", It was Mattheo with a guilty expression on his face.

"I know", I say turning around to face him.

"I can't drag you into this"

"I already told you Mattheo I don't care about that stuff I'll help you get through it"

"Y/n I can't", he was tearing up now. "I can't have you be a part of it. It's dangerous"

"Seriously, I wasted all that time for this", I say tears rolling down my face.

"Y/n it's for your protection! Can't you see I'm doing all of this for you!", he shouts balling now.

"Mattheo I can't let you go! Can't you see that!", I say falling to the floor now. He falls with me and holds me in his arms.

"I can't let you go either", he whispers kissing my head.

"So are we in this together?", I ask looking up at him.

"Only if you understand how serious this is", he says seriously.

"I understand but if it comes along with you I'm willing to take any risk"
