Madison fell asleep with Tom after they stared into each other's eyes in silence for what it seemed to be hours. She knew he was trying to figure her out, and she was doing the same, however in the back of her mind his words echoed, Draco was in danger, a lot of people she loved were in danger.

He snaked his arm around her waist pulling her close enough so he could feel her breathing, sharing the air with her, taking in her scent before he closed his eyes and dozed off into a deep slumber, one he could only get when he was with her.

"Salazar, we must leave" Aelin said to Tom who was now in Salazar Slytherin's body again.

"Why must we leave, we did nothing wrong!"

"I know, I know it was Godric, he's turned Helga, we must leave, Hogwarts isn't safe for us anymore"

"I'll protect you, my love" Tom tried to touch Aelin's face, still not used to the resemblance to his Madison.

Aelin started to tear up, but her voice was firm when she spoke, cupping his hands.

"I am with-child, and I will not have our heir where Godric can find us" she swallowed the lump in her throat knowing this wasn't a piece of information to be shared like this, "I'm going with or without you"

Salazar's emotions took over Tom himself, they were sharing the same body and soul. Tom felt Salazar's rage, he wanted to kill Godric and all the founders for that matter.

"I shall take you to a safe place, but I'll not let them win, I want our child to know what we did for the wizarding world Aelin"

Aelin pulled away, going through her belongings in a drawer and coming back with a small dagger. She locked eyes with him, knowing how determined he was to not let things go unpunished with the other founders.

"Remove your shirt"

Salazar obliged, he trusted his witch more than anything in the world.

"This will hurt" she whispered before drawing the first rune on his skin, right above the heart. Salazar hissed in pain but held fast, closing his hands in tight fists. Aelin went on to drawing seven more across his chest and torso. He did not complain or ask why, the pain was so intense he could only focus on his breathing. When she finished, back next to the first rune in his heart, she kissed his naked chest, then embraced him, letting her cheek touch his hurt skin.

"Our souls are bound, not only in my womb...our souls will always find each other"

He grabbed her head, planting a kiss on it, knowing she sensed something she didn't want to tell him.

"You're afraid he'll kill me" Salazar made the statement she dreaded saying out loud. She fell into tears, mourning tears.

"I have seen it"

Tom woke up suddenly, sitting up on the bed, waking Madison up, her heart jumped to her throat, she had never seen him move or do anything abruptly. He turned to look at her, taking her face into his hands.

"Madison, who is your mother?"

"What's going on, my lord?"

Tom pushed her hair out of her face, looking at her features. Madison was frozen, her eyes wide with questions but she kept in silence, letting him take his time to render whatever it was that woke him. He took a deep breath before kissing her, like he was about to dive into the unknown. And he was. He felt what it was to have a soul, a seventh of it already made him feel drugged with love, he wanted more. Madison quickly grabbed his hair, she knew that was a way to remind him he was Tom, to her. She pulled him in, passionately, when he stopped.
