🎶 [High-Sivik]

(5:30)
the alarm rang  in my ears before i realised what day it was and i jumped up. i immediately grabbed my shampoo, heading to the bathroom.

i open the bathroom door and lock it, hair mask in hand as well as my face cleanser. i turn on the shower and place my towel on the toilet seat and open the shower door. i rip my shirt off and pull down my shorts. the warm water on my bare skin was so relaxing. running my hands through my hair, i apply the hair mask, determined to look my best.

after 20 minutes of boiling water, i turned off the shower and stepped out, wrapping a towel around my body and putting my hair in another.

the long process of getting ready was therapeutic and stressful at the same time. blow drying my hair, applying my skincare, putting on makeup, eating breakfast, brushing my teeth, brushing my hair, getting changed, applying perfume.

i look in the mirror just before i leave the house, staring at my slightly enhanced makeup routine. i looked good, but not as good as i can.

i held back on my routine so i can look my best later. i'm saving applying eyelashes and eyeliner for later, as well as letting my natural, unstyled hair out now in order to straighten it later. i needed to look at least mediocre for school in order to prepare myself for later. i wanted it to be a shock. i wanted everyone to see just what they were ignoring in school.

i flip my hair over my shoulder and grab my bag as i walk out the door, with untied shoes.

hopping on the bus i pop my headphones in, blasting " High" by Sivik.

i anticipated bens arrival, but it never came. i spent the whole bus ride on edge preparing for him but he never got on.

i arrive at school and jump off the bus, my mind wondering to where he could be. maybe he took the day off to prepare?

the first half of the day was a blur. a boring blur. there was no spanish today, which meant no noah. we also only had english last, but since we no longer sat together our interactions were probably going to keep minimal.

1:27pm (lunch time)
me and grace walked onto the grass field, food in hand.

"lulu still not here?"

"nope." i say, munching on a pizza slice.

"aren't you worried?"

"nah. i can see her snap maps, she's online and at home. just won't text me"

"weird. i didn't like her anyway."

i laugh at grace before we sit down against a tree, cross legged.

we sit in silence for a few moments, watching the boys play football in front of us. well, grace was watching the boys, i was only watching noah.

the way he kicked the ball so effortlessly was annoying, and i was still annoyed at him. i shake my head and put it down before i spark up a conversation with grace.

"anyways, this party tonight? you still coming?" i ask, head down but my eyes up.

"obviously. i've never been so excited. it's kind of risky though"

"how?"

"telling my parents i'm at yours? they have life 360"

i tilt my head up and look her in the eyes.

"what? why didn't you tell me?" i ask, slightly frustrated

....

"i'll leave my phone at your house?" she says, with a faint convincing grin

i roll my eyes and sigh

"fine. we have to rely on mine though."

..

"what are you gonna wear?" grace asks

"well i have some tightish jeans im gonna wear, not sure on a top though."

"please don't wear any of yours."

"huh?"

"you can borrow mine."

"what? why can't i wear mine?"

"they're ugly and loose, you need a tight top to show off your body tonight." she bursts into laughter.

i sit there, dumbfounded.

"do i just have bad style and no one told me?"

"no, we've told you."

i lean back in anger, still staring at her.

"okay, fine."

"REALLY!?"

"what is wrong with you? why are you so excited?"

"i'm not being funny but i've been dying to make you wear something good. you only ever wear baggy clothes and you never show anything off, it's annoying. you have big b**bs, show them off" grace states, all while taking a bite of her pasta.

i just sit there in silence, kind of embarrassed by what she said.

"you think?" a grin grows on my face

"100%", she agrees, mumbling through a mouth filled with pasta.

"okay then. come to mine at 6:30 to get ready. the party starts at 10:00 but we'll get there for 10:45." i tell her

"why so late?" she asks

"so we can make an entrance."

"right." she agrees, nodding.

2:04pm

i walk into english with a firm stride, heading straight to my seat in a conscious effort to not make eye contact with noah. i'm done with him completely. and tonight was the night to get over him with ben. it didn't help he sat a few seats behind me, and i could feel his eyes on the back of my head. at least it wasn't greasy today.

"right class, your substitute yesterday said you were all good so we'll lay low today. we'll be doing some light reading since it's last period. open your books to page 73 and we'll read on as a class until the end of the lesson"

thank god. i needed to relax before the end of the day.

to be completely honest, i zoned out a page after she started reading. at first i tried to follow, but now i just sat in my seat staring out the window, not even turning the page.

i turn around to look at the clock behind me.
as i'm about to turn back around my eyes wander to noah, who was looking directly into my eyes. he was leaning back, his legs spread and arms crossed.

has this man ever sat up straight?

i fumble my eyebrows at him and turn, facing forward.
