POV LIZZIE

The sky is completely dark outside by now, letting the lights in the living room get everything with the brightness needed. However, the three kids in front of me seem to not care much for it. All of them have their eyes either completely shut or narrowed, ready to fall asleep. I can feel the corners of my mouth curling into a soft smile.

I stand up from the couch in a tired movement, instantly feeling the night's cold hit against my warm skin. A shiver goes through my body, and my eyes shoot back to the three kids. My sight goes around the room, looking for the blanket I keep in here. I walk to the cabinet where I keep it, grabbing it and feeling its soft fabric. I place it over the siblings, who I can hear the deep, sleepy breaths. It's, honestly, really cute. They look relaxed and at least happy, even with all that just happened.

A wave of tiredness wash over me, and I let out a yawn, quiet, so I won't wake the children up. Taking a seat at the armchair on the other side of the couch, I let my body relax for a bit while checking if they're all okay, sleeping peacefully. Luckily, they are. The smile on my lips is starting to make my cheeks sore, so I shook my head and try to brush it all off.

I stretch my whole body out in a slow movement, soon getting up and closer to the main couch. I take a look at the older child. I placed my hand on her forehead, trying to check if she still had a fever. Her skin is still a bit warm, but her face shows a soft blush through her cheeks and nose. I trace a path on her face, reaching then her nose, caressing it slightly.

"Sleep well, kids." I whisper at them, moving away slowly and then reaching the stairs, taking a deep breath, and then a stare at them, thinking about what to do. Well, waiting that or not, that's technically kidnapping. Even if I'm trying to help them, I can't keep they here without their parents' consent.

I walk up the stairs, taking a moment to look back once in a couple of steps. None of them were moving much, just laying completely comfortable on the warm couch while hugging each other. I take one last smile at them before turning my gaze to my bedroom, where I plan on taking a fast hot shower and getting ready for bed so tomorrow can start soon and I get to find out what to do. Honestly, I'm on the verge of bad anxiety.

POV EILEEN

My surroundings feel really warm and welcoming. I can't feel the cold air and sickness from the last few hours. Everything feels kind of different. I slowly open my eyes when I start feeling something moving over me. I look down at my chest to see Ava squirming in her sleep, I roll my eyes slowly and chuckle lightly, putting all my weight against the couch again. My eyes wander around, still sleepy, trying to make out everything.

I hear a noise coming from the other room, turning my attention directly to it. I try to move Ava to my other side, so it's easier for me to move. My heart beats fast, trying to figure out what I'm hearing and who's making the noise. Well, it could only be Lizzie. Right?

I keep myself still, wondering if I should go and see what this is all about, or if I should stay here and pretend to be asleep, in case anyone comes in, until I discover who is it. My scared ass chooses the second option, obviously. I close my eyes back, but I'm still trying my best to keep up with everything around.

The wooden floor of the house makes a noise, and I can tell it is close. Being an actor, I try my best to keep on pretending I'm asleep, hoping with all of my heart that is Lizzie out here.

"Good morning, sleepyheads." A sweet voice whispers. By now, I can tell by the captivating voice that it is Lizzie. Although I don't dare to open my eyes yet. I feel a strand of my hair that was resting over one of my eyes, being taken out of it, getting placed on the back of my ear. The warm hand stays for some more seconds against my skin. My heart beats faster with the contact, although I feel my mind in peace. It's a nice feeling. "Wake up, wake up." Lizzie says, still gentle, but a little louder. Ava squirms and chuckles over me, waking up from her deep sleep.
