Permanent lab partner

After a week or 2 being in this school, I've gotten 2 test, 4 pop quizzes and 6 assignments. It sucks that i'm only with Maria in English, P.E, History and Social Studies. I mean Social studies is pretty chill because we can get away with talking the whole lesson, but it sucks that i'm not with her in Science, because in science we have a 'permanent lap partner' that the the teacher choice for you, but if you didn't like your partner you could switch them. Well i would love to switch mine with Maria but we don't got science together."Last year i got too many request to switch partners, so this time no switching partners.",said the teacher as i heard people sign in frustration as a response.

The teacher started talking about who our permanent science partner is going to be. I didn't really care that much, because Maria is the only one i really like at this school. I got paired up with this guy chase. As everyone was standing up and walking around to find their partner or to argue with the teacher, i looked around a bit while still in my seat. And all of the sudden i see someone in the corner of my eye making a movement, and out of pure reflex..I jump up from my chair while turning around like one of those cat's in the 'Cat's being scared of cucumbers'video's. As i turn around i let out a little squeal, and i stop and look at the guy for a few seconds, while he looks at me. I don't know if he is analyzing my reaction or just in shock i am. "That's a little much don't you think?"he said."huh? what?"....'Your reaction, its a bit over dramatic.', the boy said with a very expressionless voice and face. "Why would you sneak up on me like that?", i said while looking around to see if anyone heard my stupid little scream. 'No, no one saw my reaction i think..', i mumble to myself in a revealed, but annoyed soft voice. 'What was that?', he asked. "nothing.... uh..are you Chase?" i quickly said to cover up."Yeah, Cyntja right?" he answered."No, its Cynthia, but some people call me Cindy if that works better for you." "Cindy is a stupid name, is Cyn okay?" he answered while unpacking his stuff on the table next to me. "I've never been called Cyn, but its fine.", you could physically hear the surprise in my voice.

After the teacher got done with explaining the long project, she finished with the line :"You will be doing this project with your partner, its due next week Thursday." Chase let out a disappointing sign and said: "We have just a little over a week to finish this, but there's no way we can finish this in school time, can we go to your house this Friday?" He asked me while looking expectingly at me. "Nope, we can't go to my house this week.."i answered while thinking about my father. What if we go to my house and my father is drunk? and what if my brother comes home late? No way, that's way too risky. 'Well we can't go to my house either. and i don't got a Library pass.' "me neither , they never gave me one when i moved here...Maybe just in the cafeteria after school?"i considered every possible option and he declined them all."Well where then huh? in your dreams?"i said annoyed, maybe i was talking a little too loud because the people in frond of us turned around and started chuckling. 'Well there goes my imaginary reputation.'i mumble to myself again. "You're weird, why do you talk to yourself?"he said while chuckling a little. "Well its either your house or mine and it's not mine" i said to him in a straight voice. "Well yours it is then!"he said. Just as i was about to protest the bell rang. "See you in Art, write your address on here."he said while getting up and giving me a small piece of paper. Whatever. On the note was also written "number/snap????" 'You wish', i said while chuckling to myself
