Keep your friends close and your enemies closer

Demi's POV
I have no idea what's gotten into Hayley. Shes been acting up since we got here, I was absolutely terrified when I found out last night she'd left during the movie and I didn't even notice. She wasn't acting herself, she was smoking again, she's been giving me attitude and the cold shoulder, she fainted the day we got here which was very unusual for her, she's even been different towards her friends and even Admira. She didn't want to join any of the activities and she'd lied about being sick to get out of the hike today.

I looked at her sadly while she looked out the window
"Please.. don't yell at me" I tried to say calmly but she just scoffed in response, which had really hurt me. I was worried about her.
I wasn't sure what to say next, I wanted to find out why she didn't want to go to the activity today since I knew she was lying about being sick. I opened my mouth to say something but I stopped when the door opened.

"oh sorry I thought you guys were all in an activity.. I was just dropping these off" Adam smiled placing some documents on the bench. "Oh yes, I'll sign those later" I smiled and stood up to grab them. I noticed him give Hayley a friendly smile, but when I looked at her she looked really uncomfortable, she looked like she was trying to shrink herself and disappear. I was sad to see her uncomfortable but figured it was just because he was Noah's dad and didn't think to much of it "so what are you guys up to then? How come you're here by yourself?" Adam asked "ah Hayley wasn't feeling well. So she needed to sit this one out" I explained even though I knew she was perfectly fine... health wise anyway.
"Aw well I hope you feel better soon" Adam smiled at her again but Hayley looked away "alright well, that was all, I'll be on my way now" he said heading out the door "thank you" I smiled as he left.

I closed the door behind him and turned to Hayley "I know your uncomfortable around him but-" "you don't know shit!" She suddenly stood up and screamed at me. I got a fright from her sudden outburst and froze. She looked at me angrily but I could see she was using anger to hide her fear. There was something going on I just couldn't work out what and it was scaring me "your right. I don't know. I have no idea what's wrong or what's going on with you right now" I said sternly. I could tell she wanted to tell me something but I knew she wasn't going to.

I sat in silence with Hayley for the next hour. I was hoping she'd say something but she just continued to stare out the window the entire time "everyone will be back soon" I said "okay" she said bluntly. I sighed "are you excited about the beach camp out? You really enjoyed it last year?" I smiled trying to make conversation "when are we going?" She asked finally saying something "the day after tomorrow" I smiled.

Hayley's POV

"Alright is everyone ready? The bus is leaving soon!" Nick called out as we all stood in the lobby waiting to leave for our overnight camping trip.
"Alright let's go" Demi smiled and we all headed out to the car park.
"Hayley, do you wanna take the bus or come in the car with me?" Demi asked "uhhh" I was going to take the bus but when I looked over to Demi's car.. I saw Kirra sitting in the front seat. No way I was going to let her and Demi be alone in the car "I'll come with you" I fake smiled "okay" she smiled back "Hey Admira, can you sit next to Maddie on the bus? I'm gonna go in the car with Demi" I asked "oh, yeah that's fine. I'll see you when we get there" she smiled giving me a quick kiss on the cheek.

Demi and I waited for everyone to board the bus before we went over to her car.

"get in the back" I demanded as I swung the car door open "oh my gosh not you again!" Kirra spat "Hayley. Don't be rude" Demi scolded "yeah. Don't be rude, you get in the back" Kirra smiled "um actually Kirra would you mind jumping in the back? It'll be better for you if you start feeling sick" Demi asked kindly. Kirra gave me a dirty look and grumbled something under her breath while she got in the back seat. What Kirra didn't know, was that this was also my car, as Demi was my mum. I smiled evilly to myself and took my seat in the front next to Demi. I was glad she knew to prioritise her daughter before some random kid.
