To make a deal

Demi's POV
I waited and watched Hayley walk into the school building before driving off. I sighed as she disappeared into the crowd, and I went home.

I threw my keys down in frustration. I could've lost Hayley last night. She could have been kidnapped, hurt or worse. I know that I should expect this type of behavior. As much as it pains me, its understandable why she chooses to act up and behave this way, and I knew she was like this before I adopted her. But I am going to fix it, but there's only so much I can do to help her. I was so scared last night when I found her bed empty, and I was so upset after we got home. I couldn't even talk so I had to just go to my room and cry so Hayley didn't see how upset I was.

I got up off the couch and went upstairs, I think I need a nap before I pick up Hayley from school. Then I will have to talk to her about what happened last night. I walked past Hayley's room and noticed it was a little bit of a mess. I decided I'd tidy it up for her a little, it might make her feel better.

I made her bed and opened her curtains, I vacuumed quickly then went into her bathroom to grab her dirty laundry. Oh That's what happened to my hair curler I chuckled to myself as I unplugged it and put it in her drawer, I was looking for that. I picked up a pile of washing off the bathroom floor and something made a small noise on the floor, I looked down expecting to see maybe a button that had fallen off her clothes, but it was a small silver blade. "Oh my god" I gasped. I picked it up carefully and inspected it, where did she get this? I wondered. I took a deep breath and put her dirty clothes in the laundry room. I flushed the blade down the toilet and checked her room for anything else she could use to hurt herself.

Hayley's POV
It was the last class of the day, In textiles me and Admira were working on our dress. We had to have a complete design and decide on materials and all that before we started working on it.

"Okay so these are some of the ideas I had for the bottom" Admira said placing 3 pieces of paper in front of me. I took a good look at all of them. These drawings were amazing, she knew what she was doing "hmm I like... this one, with this" I said pointing at 2 ideas. "Yeah! That might work!" She said drawing up a new idea. I exhaled sharply "hey is something wrong? You've been acting a little different today?" Admira said sweetly while turning her attention to me. "Yeah, yeah I'm sorry. I'm just thinking" I responded while fidgeting with my pencil. "Do you wanna talk about it?" She asked concerned. I looked over to her, her eyes looked so genuine and kind. I knew I could trust her "yeah just home stuff" I shrugged. I didn't really want to talk about it but I didn't want to offend her when she was just trying to be kind "yeah I get that" she said looking down sadly making me think she had a story of her own.

It was a really long day of school, I felt really gloomy. I didn't really want to talk to Demi but I knew she'd want to talk to me about last night. I waited at the pick up zone and watched as other parents came and went, hmm Demi was never late. The pick up zone started clearing out and I was starting to get a little worried beep beep I let out a sigh of relief when I looked up to see Demi's car. "Hi" I said quietly jumping in the front seat. "Hey beautiful, how was your day" she said in the same tone. "Um. Interesting.." I said a little annoyed. "What do you mean?" She asked. I didn't want to tell her what I meant yet. "Let's just get home" I mumbled.

Me and Demi walked through the front door. "Okay I know you want to tell me off for what I did last night" I said starting the conversation "what? No Hayley. Yes we need to talk about it, but I'm not going to get mad with you" Demi said very kindly "you know what you did was bad. You could have been killed Hayley" she said continued sternly. I looked down. She was right, I wasn't thinking. I've always just been destructive and never thought about my safety. A lot of things could've happened.
