I wish his arms were secure around my waist. It had been a week since Sulfus and I had been trapped in this hell hole. I was alone in thought, but I could look over at him. His hazel eyes shined bright. I missed this so much. How the hell was I supposed to get out of this mess?
What had happened with Callie and Zane? Were they ok? I couldn't help but wonder all these questions. How would Callie's child be? Reina could capture them at any moment, and they have no clue what's coming.
I looked at Sulfus who had his messy, raven tented hair swooped into his eyes. He was asleep in a world I could never reach in this place. He was peaceful and I had no intention on breaking this peace. I could see his shortness of breath when he would twitch. I wonder what he was dreaming about.
I knew it wasn't the best idea, but I could use my think fly to talk to him and let him sleep. I just hope he knew I wasn't trying to invade his thoughts. "Think Fly," I was instantly in his dream.
The dream was like a fast paced loop showing the memories of him and I. I saw the first time we met, then the time we broke the VETO, around to our first kiss, all the way to a garden.
He was standing in the back of rows of chairs. I looked around at the crowded garden, then I saw it. It was just like the dream I had experienced at Reina's house. I saw the alter filled with a priest, Sulfus, and me. I was wearing a satin lined wedding dress with jewels fluttering the neck line. Sulfus was dressed in tux with his hair flowing free.
I was at my wedding. I was walking down the aisle towards Sulfus. The Sulfus standing in the back was admiring the moment, and he was happy. His smile spoke a million words. I was very baffled by this dream as well. It was impossible for us to get married, but we could always dream.
I decided to get his attention. "Sulfus," I yelled. He looked at me with a confused expression.
"How did you get in my dream? You want to know if I think about you," he smirked and I blushed.
"No, no. I used my think-fly. Although, it's nice to know you do," I smiled. "You looked so peaceful, I couldn't wake you. I realize we have tried almost everything to break free, but I need to help Callie and Zane. There is a big possibility Reina had already intervened, but I'm willing to give it a little faith. Sulfus, I need to touch you," I yearned for it.
"I wish I could touch you, wrap myself around you. I also agree, but what could we do? We can't even break the chains," he responded.
"I don't know. I wish there was something we could do, but we are simple mortals," I sighed.
"Wake me up, I have an idea," he stated. I did as he told me, and went back to my own body. I brushed my fingers down his arm and he awoke. He blinked his eyes open and looked at me.
"That's the problem," Sulfus said with his eyes lighting up. "We are mortal. Do you remember the first time Reina had us captured? We had to break the chains by turning mortal. What if we can unchain ourselves by using our powers. Basilisk!"
"There is no way-" I was cut off when Basilisk appeared. It worked? But how?
"Cox!" I yelled. The spotted ladybug appeared in front of me. I never thought I would be so happy to see Cox.
"Activate inverse-metamorphosis," Sulfus and I said at the same time. I retained my usual angel attire as did Sulfus with his devil attire. It had never felt so good to be an angel. Sulfus used body-fly and I used inflame to break the chains. He broke them, I melted them. I put my arms to my side and stood.
Sulfus wrapped his arms around me. I had no idea how much I would miss this, but it was beyond my breaking point. I could almost see the glass shatter in my head. I was home in his arms.
