Wrapping her arms around Leah's waist, Courtney smiles slightly as she feels the blonde let out a small sigh. Pulling the blonde closer to her, she presses a kiss against her should before adjusting the covers over them both.
'She's fine.' Courtney says softly watching as Leah intently stares at the baby monitor which is focused on Charley. They arrived home from Paris a little over five hours ago and they've just focused on unpacking and getting the kids to bed.
'What if-' Leah begins and Courtney shakes her head.
'No what ifs... She's absolutely fine, I promise. She's just having a grumble because she's in her cot for the first time in days.' Courtney says tightening her arms around the blonde.
'I don't know why I find it so hard to let go of her. You went through it as well.' Leah mumbles shaking her head.
'I do... Yes, we both went through it but you're completely ignoring the fact that for the first what three or four days I was completely out of it, Le. I was recovering as well and you were left to deal with the shitty reality that we could lose our baby all on your own and I can't even imagine how hard that must have been. I didn't even realise that they had to resuscitate her when she was born until you told me weeks later, I didn't know half of the stuff that went on.' Courtney says.
'But I worked through all that with my therapist. I bought the toddler bed before we went to Paris because I thought maybe if we transition her I'll feel better about putting her to bed but I just- I don't think I will. I think I'll actually feel worse.' Leah replies and Courtney nods her head.
'And I worked through my rape with mine but that doesn't mean there aren't still aspects of it that I still really struggle with, Le. It just so happens that the part you struggle with is letting go of Charley and that's okay... It won't be like that forever.' Courtney says. Letting out a small sigh, she untangles her arms from around the blonde's waist and climbs out of bed.
'Where you going?' Leah asks.
'Don't move...' Courtney says quietly. She leaves the room only to return minutes later with Charley balanced on her hip.
'Mama!' Charley moans sleepily as she reaches her arms out to Leah who rolls onto her back.
'There are much worse things than having our baby in our bed.' Courtney says softly as she places the nearly two-year-old down next to her wife.
