A New Chapter

'Hey, Ky... You alright?' Leah asks glancing at the screen in her car as she accepts the call from the young Aussie and hears her sigh down the phone.

'What are you and the girls doing today?' Kyra asks.

'I've just dropped Bunny and Tilly at school and nursery... Now I'm going to drop Charley at my mum's and go shopping for her birthday.' Leah replies, once again hearing Kyra sigh.

'You okay?' Leah asks softly. She's well aware that Kyra is currently going through what is probably her longest injury so far in her career having picked up a MCL injury during their latest match against Spurs.

'I'm bored... I've not been allowed to start my rehab yet and I just- Everyone I know is training and I was just- In fact, nevermind. It's okay.' Kyra replies.

'Do you want to spend the day with me? I'm not doing too much. Just Smyths and then back home so you won't be on your feet a whole ton. How confident are you on your crutches?' Leah asks.

'I can get around on them.' Kyra replies.

'I can be at your place in fifteen minutes if you'll be ready to go by then? Are you going to be comfortable in the car?' Leah asks.

'I really don't want to intrude on your day, Le. I'll be okay.' Kyra replies.

'Don't be silly... I know how tough it can be to be injured and everyone else is at training. We'll do Smyths and then grab some lunch. You can always come back to ours for a bit afterwards and I'll drop you home tonight.' Leah says.

'Thank you, Le.' Kyra replies quietly.

'We'll be there in fifteen... I'll message you when we're outside, okay?' Leah says.

'Okay.' Kyra replies. Ending the call, Leah glances in the rearview mirror at Charley who is happily just chatting away to her teddy in her carseat.

'Change of plan, Cha-Cha... We're going to go pick up Auntie Kyra.' Leah says smiling.

'Manage?' Leah asks watching the young Aussie nod her head as she slowly slides herself into the passenger seat.

'Think so.' Kyra replies. It takes a few minutes before Kyra is settled, her seatbelt on and the door closed.

'Sorry for just like imposing on your day... I know you're busy with the girls.' Kyra says causing Leah to immediately shake her head.

'You're not imposing. Honestly, I don't really have much on so if there is anything you need, even if it's just some company then you just give me a call... We love spending time with Auntie Ky, don't we?' Leah asks and Kyra glances in the backseat at Charley.

'I can't believe she's almost two.' Kyra says.

'I know... I feel like it's gone by so fast this time.' Leah replies.

'Do you think you'll ever have another or are you guys done at three?' Kyra asks as Leah begins to drive.

'I hope we have another. I mean don't get me wrong I know we are so blessed to have three beautiful, healthy girls but I would like to add another little one.' Leah replies.

'Would Courtney carry again or would you like to? Obviously there are couples where like just one of them carries, like I don't think Viv wants to carry but then you've got like Mini and Clara; they've both carried.' Kyra asks.

'All going well, I would like to carry the next one. I think Court has been through a lot throughout the pregnancies and the miscarriages are a lot to deal with mentally. She's said that she'd carry again if I couldn't or didn't want to but I know that she really doesn't want to.' Leah replies.

'Am I being too nosey? You can tell me to shut up.' Kyra says causing Leah to laugh.

'Not at all, Ky. You're fine, I promise.' Leah replies smiling.

'Are you still enjoying not playing anymore?' Kyra asks as they slowly make their way around the toy story; Leah being mindful of the fact that the Aussie is on crutches.

'Mm... I really am. Don't get me wrong, it's strange not having that set routine that I had for most of my adult life but it's nice to go at a bit of a slower pace. I get to experience so much more with the girls and we are getting to do more as a family because I don't have games at the weekend.' Leah replies.

'It must be a big change. What are you doing sort of fitness wise? I always worry that when I retire I'll just fall away from working out and then get so unfit.' Kyra says.

'Well firstly, you've hopefully got a long time before you're retiring. Secondly, you figure it out. Initially I fell away from working out almost completely; I was relishing in the fact I could have longer lies and still take the girls to school but that only lasted maybe five weeks and then I thought nah I need to do something. So now I get up and go to the gym with Al before the girls get up.' Leah replies.

'How's your knee doing?' Leah asks.

'It's okay... Physios have said that I can start rehab probably by the end of the week so that'll be good to start moving again and stuff.' Kyra replies causing Leah to smile.

'That's great... It's hard when you're sitting out on the sidelines, especially when you're not quite at the stage of rehabbing yet.' Leah says and Kyra nods her head.

'I feel like I'm just annoying everyone at this point. I just keep floating around different people's but I don't want to impose when like Mini is putting the kids to bed or Katie and Caitlin plus Charli's pregnant and tired so I just- I don't know.' Kyra replies shrugging her shoulders.

'You're always welcome at our place, Kyra. Please don't ever feel like you're being annoying or intruding. Our door is always open and it's not like I really do much else so I'm pretty much always free.' Leah says smiling.

'What did you get up to today? Resting I hope.' Courtney says smiling as she snakes her arms around the blonde's waist until her hands rest on her stomach.

'Mm... I went shopping to pick up the last few bits we wanted for Charley's birthday. Met up with Kyra. I think she's struggling a bit with being injured and stuff so we went for lunch and then she came to pick the girls up with me.' Leah replies smiling as she leans back into Courtney's arms.

'Bless her... How are you feeling?' Courtney asks.

'Bit crampy but I'm okay. My hips really hurt but I don't know if that's just the way I was lying last night or something.' Leah replies and Courtney nods her head.

'Go sit down and let me finish cleaning up?' Courtney says causing the blonde to shake her head.

'No, it's fine. You're just in from work, go relax with the girls. I'm fine.' Leah replies.

'Le, go have a seat. Technically you're pregnant right now so go and relax and let me take care of you.' Courtney says causing Leah to smile.

'I love you.' Leah almost whispers as she turns around to face the brunette.

'I love you too... Now go sit your ass down on the sofa and let me finish in here.' Courtney replies smiling. Nodding her head, Leah presses a soft kiss against the brunette's cheek before making her way through to the living room where Charley and Tilly are playing while Bunny does some homework.

'Need any help, Bunbun?' Leah asks causing the little girl to shake her head.

'I'm okay, Lele.' Bunny replies. Sitting down on the sofa, she curls her legs underneath her body as she watches the girls place. Her hand instinctively settles against her stomach as she thinks about the fact that this time next year they could have a new little addition to the family.
