Author's POV

Everything can lie except the rapid heartbeat that always supports the inner turmoil of the soul. One may use all his strength, but the heart follows the path of truth when drawing a line between present and past. The same was the case with Reeva Singhania. Standing in front of a member of the family that wanted to dig her grave with bare hands, she knew in the land of enemies she had met the ace of all.

Her eyes met the dark ones of the older lady as she smiled at her. She politely nodded at the woman of the day as she stared at her with an assessing gaze. Reeva masked her apprehension under layers of sugarcoated greetings as Layla brown introduced herself. Reeva didn't miss how Layla's eyes gleamed as soon as she heard the woman she was talking to was Reeva Singhania under the mask. Turning her back towards the mirror, Reeva looked straight at her as she heard her praise.

"I have heard a lot about you, Reeva. From the past to the present, all I have been hearing about is how disciplined you are"

"People say what they see, Ms. Brown. I just know better than them to draw lines between order and chaos," Reeva said nonchalantly, making the elder lady smile.
