Screaming into the makeshift gag in her mouth Mrs Lovett felt tears prick at her eyes as the doctor removed a piece of shrapnel from her leg. She grabbed Officer Morgan's hand squeezing it tight as he sat by her side on the bed supporting her as the doctor tended to her wound. It had been 2 days now since the incident and only now had this particular doctor managed to make his way round to the officers house to treat the patient.

She groaned in agony squeezing her eyes tightly shut as the piece of debris was finally removed from her leg.

"It's out Mrs Lovett, just need to tend to the wound" the old doctor in about his 70s said as she relaxed a little only to bite the cloth in her mouth harder as he rubbed it clean with alcohol.

"You're doing so well" she heard Officer Morgan's words of encouragement by her ear as she strained. He had been ever so kind to her these last few days, she had been ever so poorly and he had been very generous to help her when he wasn't on duty. He worked most of the day and would come back when he could to see how she was getting on. Mostly she had slept, recovering slowly from the shock and pain she felt from the force of the impact.

She had told him this morning that she wanted him to call round her establishment and to let her son know that she was still alive. He had promised to do so but as soon as the doctor appeared it seemed his original plan to leave had been postponed.

As the doctor bandaged up her wound Mrs Lovett felt herself become dizzy from the pain. Laying her head back against the pillow she felt the gag being removed from her mouth and with seconds her eyes began to flutter closed again...

Tears streamed down Lucy's face on this cold London night. There to comfort her was her daughter Johanna who kept assuring her that everything would be okay. Upon heading home that day of the attack both her husband and Nellie's run around looked as if they'd seen a ghost. It was when Lucy saw the emptiness that filed her Benjamins eyes she knew something awful had happened.

Hearing of the attack and Mrs Lovetts disappearance, the mood of what started to be happy day had turned into one of complete devastation. All for diffent reasons for it seemed everyone was upset over the baker yet Lucy was feeling more detached from her Ben than ever before. Two days had now passed and in that whole time he hadn't been home. Toby had explained to the two women that Mr Todd was still out there looking for Mrs Lovett, news which stung a little to hear. Toby had been desperate to go with him in search for his mum but Sweeney Todd had made it all to clear in his mean stricken way that he wanted to be alone.

Toby therefore had stayed behind waiting patiently by the window in the pie shop eager for Mr Todd's return in hope of news.

"Two days!" Lucy cried into her handkerchief as her daughter ran her hand smoothly up and down her mother's back as she cried. "What if somethings happened to him? What if he doesn't come back?" She continued to weep sat in the pie shop the other side of the room from Toby who rolled his eyes at the woman's whining. Mrs Lovett had been right, she was a nuisance.

"He will mother, father just needs time.... after all he was very found of Eleanore, as we all were...are" Johanna was quick to correct herself not daring to think the worst about Nellie. Mrs Lovett being the kindest most sweet natured soul and the idea of her being dead was not something Johanna was willing to accept. Like her father and Toby she hadn't lost hope...

"Why is he acting like this Johanna? He clearly still has feelings for her if he's this involved in finding her" the bitterness to her tone was not something johanna or Toby had expected. As Toby turned to look at them Johanna apologised to the boy with her eyes before resting both her hands over her mother's.
