ISABELLE'S POV.

{FLASHBACK}

Deciding to let my pride down, I asked a teen wolf what was happening? And instead of him to answer me the idiot was busy staring at my chest. What with teenagers of nowadays?

I snapped my hands loudly, gaining the attention of others in the process. "Stop staring pip, and answer my goddamn question" I hissed.

"Oh! I...I...I... the alpha has gone to the west border to fight off some rogues." And my heartbeat quickened for a little bit. I was scared or rather my wolf was.

"Damon! Is he going to be okay?" Hera asked and I gulped down the bitterness in my throat completely ignoring the stuttering fool at my front.

"I don't know Hera, you are the wolf here, the one with the instincts is you not me duh" I replied shutting her off immediately.

Since our first encounter in the kitchen we have not spoken any word to each other; he's been busy attending meetings, signing treaties and taking care of the pack amongst others and I have been busy adjusting to the pack's system. We only have the opportunity to secretly take long glances at each other.

Matt told me the day before that he was coming back home today since he had gone on a business trip to Mali to oversee the wolves there. How I know all these is all Matts' doing, he has been ensuring to keep me up to date about Damon's schedule.

Leaving the scene, I went to the kitchen where I expected Maddy to be and she definitely did not disappoint. As if on instincts, she turned to me beaming cheerfully but I could see it in her eyes, the deep worry she felt for her mate.

She was worried and so was despite not wanting to admit the truth. Our mates are out there, fighting for the safety and peace of wolves in general and they could get hurt. What's there not to be worried about?

"Here she is" Maddy suddenly said jolting me out of my thoughts and making me snap my head towards her. She paused before gesturing her friends towards me.

"This is Isabella but she prefers to go by Bella" she said and my eyes widen, I did not come here all of this introduction.

"What's going on Maddy?" I mind linked her but she only winked in return. What the hell is going through this girl's brain now and one thing I am sure of that I am going to regret ever coming downstairs to search for Maddy.

{FLASHBACK ENDS}

"We really need to have a conversation Issa" Zeus said pulling me out of my flashback. Giving a deadly glare I shot back, "Point of correction Mr. Ruthless, it is Isabella or Bella not Issa" I paused to catch my breath before continuing.

"And you definitely do not have the right to call me that" I said hitting his chest with my index finger, trying to intimidate him. Ah ah that was a joke, how I can intimidate Mr. intimidation himself.

"I have every right to call you whatever I want shortcake because of two separate reasons" he taunted and I huffed loudly. "I am all ears gentleman".

His eyes twinkled in amusement and his lips twitched. Glad I could be a source of amusement to him.

"Jokes on you Shortcake but I am not saying" he said smugly before suddenly lifting me up and placing me on one of the kitchen stools making me squeal loudly. What can I say, I was taken by surprise?

"You are no longer safe Isabella" he said turning to me and sitting opposite me. All traces of the laughter and amusement gone from is eyes. He was looking damn serious.
