Chapter - 39

𝑱𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒆'𝒔 𝑷𝒐𝒗:

For the past two weeks, I have been in America. I'm really happy because my mom and dad are now fine, and these two weeks have been the happiest of my life. I want to always stay with my parents.

I haven't talked to anyone from Korea for two weeks, not even to Lili. Honestly, I really miss her. Our exams are starting next week.

Well, I have decided that I will take admission at Harvard University instead of Oxford because my parents are here. I have also talked to my dad about shifting our business to America so I can get training while studying. As soon as I finish my studies, I will become the CEO of the company. Dad has agreed and has already instructed his trusted people to start the shifting process, which will happen very soon.

I don't know how long Dad's treatment will continue, and as long as it does, I will stay here in America with him. Once he gets better, we will think about returning to Korea.

I also want to bring Lili here, but if she doesn't want to come, I will respect her decision.

Today, I am going back to Korea for the exams, and no one knows about it. I want to surprise Lili.

After fifteen hours, Jennie arrived in Seoul, Korea, and smiled as he said, "Oh, my lovely country."

Jennie, carrying his luggage, headed straight to the mansion. It was evening, and about an hour later, he reached the Manoban mansion, feeling very excited.

Jennie entered the mansion with his luggage in hand and saw all his friends and Mr. and Mrs. Manoban sitting together, but Lisa wasn't with them.

Jisoo saw Jennie and smiled, saying, "Thank God you're back!" He quickly approached Jennie and hugged him tightly, feeling extremely happy.

Everyone turned to look at Jennie, including Mr. and Mrs. Manoban, who seemed worried.

The reason everyone was at the Manoban mansion today was that three days ago, the doctor had revealed that Lisa was two months pregnant. Since then, Lisa hadn't left her room or spoken to anyone.

Lisa had missed Jennie a lot and had tried calling him many times, but the calls never went through, leading her to angrily break her phone. She stayed in her room, feeling isolated.

Last night, she told her dad, Mr. Manoban, that she didn't want the baby and wanted an abortion. So, everyone had come to the Manoban mansion today to try to reason with her, but Lisa was not willing to listen to anyone.

Lisa had cried a lot over the past two weeks because she missed Jennie terribly. Before, Jennie's full attention was always on Lisa, but since his mom had returned, Jennie seemed to have forgotten Lisa, focusing solely on his mom. This hurt Lisa deeply, and her pregnancy only amplified her distress.

Jennie, on the other hand, missed Lisa too, but he wanted to be with his parents entirely, which is why he hadn't talked to anyone.

Everyone looked at Jennie with a mix of upset and complicated feelings, but Jennie was very happy.

Breaking the hug, Jennie asked, "Bro, how are you?"

"I'm good. How were mom and dad, cousin?" Jisoo replied.

Walking towards everyone, Jennie said, "They were good. And how's grandma?"

"She's good too," Jisoo replied.

Jennie greeted everyone and then asked, "Where's Lili?"

"Uhmm, she's in her room," Mrs. Manoban said.

"Okay, thanks, auntie. I'll go see her there," Jennie said with a smile before heading excitedly upstairs.

"I hope Lisa understands everything," Mr. Manoban sighed, mumbling to himself, but everyone heard.

Jennie slowly entered Lisa's room and saw her disheveled hair and swollen eyes. When Lisa saw Jennie, tears started streaming down her face. She grabbed a pillow and angrily threw it at Jennie, who caught it. Then Lisa picked up another pillow and began hitting Jennie. Jennie quickly grabbed her arms and kissed her to calm her down.

Lisa, however, kicked Jennie in the crotch, making him let go and scream, "Ahhhhhhh."

Jennie fell to the ground, clutching his crotch in pain. His scream wasn't heard by anyone because the room was soundproof.

Lisa wiped her tears and angrily said, "Don't you dare touch me again."

Enduring the pain, Jennie looked at Lisa, who was furious and hurt, and asked, "Why? Is it a crime to touch my own girlfriend?"

Lisa chuckled painfully and sarcastically said, "Really? Now you remember you have a girlfriend? Wow, what a boyfriend you are."

Slowly getting up, Jennie said, "I am so sorry, Lili. I know I haven't talked to you for two weeks, and I understand you're angry, but you know I was with my parents after so many years. I wanted to give them my full attention. I'm sorry." He reached out to hold her hand, but Lisa stepped back.

"I don't need your apology. Go give your full attention to them. I don't care. I'm done with you," Lisa said in an angry tone.

Jennie felt hurt but tried to smile and said, "Lili, please don't joke like this. I know you're mad at me, but don't say that."

"I'm not joking, Kim. I am really done with you, so let's break up," Lisa said, her tone filled with real anger.

Tears welled up in Jennie's eyes. Just a moment ago, he had been so happy, but now he felt deeply hurt. He said, "Lili, please don't say that. If this is a joke, it's a really bad one. And if you're serious, forget it. I won't let you go. You're only mine."

Lisa angrily slapped Jennie and said, "Don't you dare say that I'm yours! I am not your—" Before she could finish, the door opened and Sehun entered.

When Lisa saw Sehun, she hugged him to hurt Jennie and said, "Hi Sehun, what are you doing here? Is everything okay?"

Sehun, confused, hugged Lisa back. Jennie's eyes filled with tears, but he didn't say anything and just watched them silently.

Sehun then broke the hug and said, "Lili, Mr. Manoban asked me to bring you a phone. That's why I'm here."

Lisa gave a fake smile and said, "Thank you so much. You're always so busy, but you still find time for me. You're so nice, Sehun."

Sehun blushed at her words, but Jennie's heart shattered into a million pieces, seeing the love of his life say these things to someone else.

Unable to watch any longer, Jennie ran out of the room, tears streaming down his face, and hurried downstairs.
