Twenty- Six

"DID I HEAR THAT RIGHT?! ARE YOU TWO DAT—" I quickly placed my palm on Soonyoung's mouth in an attempt to silence him. I did succeed in silencing him, but his wide eyes and incoherent noises clearly portrayed his surprise.

I slowly withdrew my hand after feeling like he had calmed down. He quickly turned his face towards Jeonghan, who was sitting next to him on the Gose shooting site. Jeonghan offered him a smile in response, "It happened kind of fast. Now don't go yelling it to the other members—" Before he could even finish his sentence, Soonyoung was up from his chair and ran towards some members near the camera crew. 

I glanced at Jeonghan, who just shrugged before he gave me an apologetic smile. I could see the panic in his eyes as he tried to figure out how to handle the situation. Soonyoung was known for his impulsiveness, and this was just another example of it. 

After watching Soonyoung whisper something to some of the other members, I saw them get up and make their way towards us. Jeonghan noticed it as well before he stood up and gently nudged me, "Should we run away?" He muttered from behind, ready to pull away from the approaching members if I nodded. I looked at him and shook my head, "It's fine, it's not like they'll kill me or anything."

"I mean, I knew it. I was waiting for you guys to announce it." Seungkwan gleamed with his hands crossed against his chest. Chan and Hansol quickly turned to him, followed by the other members, "You knew?! And you didn't tell us?!"

"Well, I only knew because I live with Jeonghan and these two lovebirds were making out on the cou-" I quickly covered Seungkwan's mouth before he could finish his sentence, feeling my face flush with embarrassment. The other members burst into laughter, and I couldn't help but join in despite my mortification.

 "Do you want to have dinner at my place?" I suggested it after the day's work was done. Jeonghan eagerly nodded as he grabbed his coat and car keys and hurried to the parking lot. As we drove to my place, a comfortable silence had settled, and I couldn't help but watch him as he gracefully drove. The way the city lights reflected off his eyes and the way his hands confidently gripped the steering wheel made my heart flutter.

"I like it when you stare at me like that." He said it out of nowhere before glancing at me with a cheeky smile. His words caught me off guard, but I chuckled, hearing his smooth voice breaking the silence.

"I can't help it, you just have that effect on me," I replied, feeling a warmth spread through me at his playful comment. I noticed a slight blush creeping up his cheeks as he smiled.

"You know, I've never stopped liking you." He paused, his eyes locking with mine, revealing a vulnerability I hadn't seen before. "Even after you left back then..." He passed a seemingly simple smile that seemed to hold deeper meanings.

I looked down and fumbled with my fingers as the memories came back, remembering how I used to cry for him after I left. How much I missed him, how much I missed seeing him smile like that, "Me neither." I said it softly, reaching out and holding his hand. He quickly intertwined our fingers together and planted a gentle kiss on my knuckle before pulling away to continue driving.

After finishing the dinner at my house, I stood up to gather the plates and dishes to wash. Jeonghan stood up as well, gathering a few plates and helping me take them to the kitchen. As we worked together in silence, I couldn't help but feel a sense of warmth and comfort in his presence. It was moments like these that made me grateful for having him back in my life.

I felt a pair of hands snake around my waist as Jeonghan rested his chin on my shoulder and whispered in my ear, "Can I stay the night?" His breath tickled my ear, sending shivers down my spine.

I turned to face him, eyes slightly wide as I looked at him, He burst out laughing while waving his hands in the air, "Just kidding, I'll see you tomorrow." He let go of his hold on me and planted a sweet peck on my lips as he walked to the door. 

A flash of disappointment crossed my mind before I called out to him, running to him and holding his wrist in a tight hold. "No, stay the night!" I couldn't bear the thought of him leaving just yet. 

He turned back with a smile, his eyes sparkling with happiness as he made his way back to me, wrapping me in a tight hug as he managed to mumble, "I didn't want to make you uncomfortable." My heart swelled with love and affection as I heard his reasoning and smiled into the hug.

I returned the hug as I wrapped my arms around his neck and placed my head on his shoulders, "You never do." In that moment, I realised how much I truly cared for him and how much his presence meant to me. As we stood there in each other's arms, I knew that this was where I wanted to be—with him.

He let go of the hug as he looked at me with a smile dancing on his face, He cupped my cheeks and leaned in closer, "I feel the same way," he whispered before gently pressing his lips against mine. The world seemed to fade away as we shared a tender kiss, solidifying the unspoken connection between us. He let go of the kiss soon, only to place his lips back on mine as soon as he did, deepening the kiss by parting our mouths. I felt our hearts beat rapidly in sync as he picked me up and headed towards my bedroom. Our bodies moved together effortlessly, as if we had been waiting for this moment for eternity. The passion between us ignited, leaving us both breathless and consumed by desire. In that moment, I knew that this was just the beginning of a night filled with intense passion and intimacy.
