Lily got out of the car first and ran towards the car. Confused, Danny followed her and saw a man get out of the car and kiss Lily. Jealousy surged through him, causing him to realise his mum was correct. He did like Lily. She had a boyfriend though so he couldn't do anything about it.

Lily ran over to to Danny and pulled his hand, dragging him towards this guy. "Dan, this is Matt, my boyfriend." She introduced him. "Matt, this is my best friend since childhood and the lead singer in The Script, Danny." I looked Matt up and down before shaking hands with him. Matt had blonde hair He was wearing what looked like designer jeans and a Ralph Lauren polo shirt. His shoes were clearly expensive and although the two men were not standing close together, Danny was almost choked by the stench of Dolce & Gabbana for men. And although they had only just met, Danny did not like Matt and he was pretty sure the feeling was mutual.

Matt stood, Lily by his side, looking at the man infront of him. Danny looked around 6'3 so was around 3 inches taller than Matt. Danny clearly did not look after himself because his chin had stubble from not shaving for 2-3 days. He was wearing a leather jacket and a white t-shirt with black skinny jeans. Matt turned his nose up at Danny's fashion choice and immediately disliked him. Matt wrapped his arm around Lily, to show Danny they were together and anger flashed through Danny's eyes for a second but it was covered up immediately.

"Baby, let's go inside!" Matt suggested and pulled Lily with him. Danny followed them and Matt was very confused. "Ummmm, what are you doing?" He asked.

"Last I checked, I was staying here. Lilypop?" Danny turned to Lily. Matt snorted at the stupid nickname.

"Lilypop?" He laughed obnoxiously.

"Matt." Lily scolded with a frown. "Don't be mean to Danny and yes, Lilypop, he has called me that since we were kids."

Matt grumbled curses under his breath and the three of them walked into the house together. Danny and Lily kicked off their shoes and left them in the porch but Matt left his on and sauntered into the living room, leaving a trail of mud behind him. Lily was about to follow after him but Danny grabbed her arm. Him? Danny mouthed and pointed in Matt's direction. Lily scowled and nodded but Danny could see she was not happy with him.

Pick up the phone Dan, you Bastard! Blared from Danny's phone and Dan and Lily jumped in fright.

"What is that? And why did you jump at your own phone?" She asked him and chuckled.

"Oh yeah, it's Mark's ringtone. He got annoyed because I went through a phase of not picking up my phone so last week, he grabbed my phone and recorded his own ringtone for me. This is the first time he has called me since so I was just as shocked as you were." He explained, laughing at his friend's practical joke.

Danny answered the phone and left to go to his room. "Mark, you bastard!" He shouted inbetween chuckles.

"What? Do you not like your ringtone?" He asked innocently. "Anyway, is it okay for me to stay with Lily?"

"Yeah its fine. Are you coming Thursday?" Dan asked.

"No, Wednesday." Mark corrected.

"Alright, see you then!" Danny called down the phone.

"See ya!" Mark hung up after this and Dan put his phone on his bedside table. Suddenly, shouting started downstairs. It was Lily and Matt and it sounded pretty serious but the actual words they were saying were muffled. After 1 minute of sitting and waiting, Danny crept outside and waited at the top of the stairs, no longer able to contain his curiosity.

"So you just invite a man to stay in your house?" Matt shouted.

"He has been my best friend. I already ran this past you so why are you being so jealous?!" Lily's voice said. She was pissed off but her voice was calm, she was not shouting yet.

"You told me a friend from a band was staying over. I assumed you meant a girl band."

"If you had listened to any of my conversations with you about my childhood, you would remember me saying the name Danny O'Donoghue! Heard of him? The famous male singer?!"

"Have you seen him? He looks like an ex drug addict. He is so clearly in love with you. He needs to leave now before he makes a move on you!" Danny flinched at his words. This is not the way Danny was hoping she would find out about his feelings.

"So what?!" Lily screamed at him, poison dripping on every word. "Just because he doesn't wear designer items like you doesn't mean he is a drug addict! And yes, he loves me! He always has and I've always loved him!" Danny's heart skipped a beat at these words. "If he loves me, it's much more than you have ever felt towards me you stuck up twat! We are through Matt! And pick up the designer mud you walked through the house on your way in!" She shouted.

"You bitch!" Matt shouted and Danny ran down the stairs just in time to see him slap Lily. Danny ran forwards and punched Matt in the face.

"Don't you ever lay your hands on a woman! Now fuck off before I punch you again!" Danny shouted and Matt scrambled up, running towards the door. As soon as he was sure Matt had left, Danny knelt down next to Lily who was curled up into a ball and shivering ferociously. He put an arm around her and kissed her forehead.

"It's okay. It's going to be alright." He comforted.
