"What the fuck do you mean he's dead?" Tate whisper yelled at Zion as we both folded our arms over our chests, intently looking at Zion waiting for an explanation.
"I just got a call from Quinn, one of the guys heard from Langston that he's dead, Quinn overheard, Hansen found his body."
"How'd he die?"
"When did she find his body?"
"Who do they think did it?"
"I-- I don't know, I don't have the answers yet but, I don't have a good feeling about anything. I feel like they're going to have the streets in a panic though, someone is going to pay for this and if it was 7th street, it's going to be an all out war for turf and power." Zion said, he knew that's exactly what this meant.
Hansen was going to go out looking for blood, she was his right hand.
"He's been dead for a few hours from what I know, sounds like it was a hit, I don't even know how someone would've gotten to him." Zion spoke, he was at a loss of words.
"We have to go, we can't let things get hot on the streets, next thing you know-- Hansen will be looking for us. Tate, tell Quinn to get out of there and that we'll be on our way. We don't need them knowing she told us what happened." I spoke truthfully and Tate nodded.
The three of us were in agreement. "We'll stop by my place, gotta strap up, I only got one mag on me, you have your gun?" Zion asks as he looks at me.
"Always." I spoke, I always had to be ready, never know when shit will pop off. Plus, ever since I got stabbed, I wanted to make sure my gun was always on me.
The three of us headed back inside where Lizzie and her friends were still cleaning up and talking. Lizzie looked over in my direction as I grabbed my jacket off the couch, putting it on as I slid my keys into my pocket.
My friends and I headed towards the door when Lizzie grabbed my hand, stopping me from walking. Her sisters looked over at us as my friends stopped, waiting for my next move.
"Where are you going?" Lizzie asked quietly, loud enough for me to hear. I could tell she was a bit worried as she looked into my eyes with her green ones.
I didn't want to lie to her but, I also knew if I told her where I was going or what happened with Brock, she would immediately become more concerned than she clearly already was and she would tell me not to leave.
I nodded to my friends, Zion and Tate, signaling for them to give me a second to talk to Elizabeth. I laced my fingers with Elizabeth's as I walked her over into the living room so no one could hear us. "Something went down and we have to go--"
"What happened?" Lizzie asked, immediately concerned. "I'd rather not get into that right now--"
"Babe," Lizzie began. She gave me a look, piercing my eyes. "If it wasn't urgent, I wouldn't go but--"
"Whatever it is, whoever it is, you're not going. Just enjoy the night, please. It's your birthday, your brother is staying the night-- just stay, please." Lizzie spoke softly as she looked into my eyes with worry.
I sighed and nodded, she was right. It's not everyday that I'm celebrated so, I needed to stay. I needed to be here with the people I care about the most. Plus, she planned the whole party and put a lot of work and money into everything. I needed to be with her.
I walked over to my friends, informing them I was staying and telling them to be safe out there and that I would meet back up with them tomorrow and to keep me updated.
