A day to celebrate love, to show to the ones that we love - romantically - our feelings towards them and hope that it's reciprocate, however, it can also be a day to remember your status as a single person. However, that's something that Adrien was decided to change before the end of the day.
Some weeks ago, Hawkmoth was defeated revealing a man in his 40's wanting to make a wish using the Miraculous, the wish of having his wife and daughter back. Unfortunately, his methods were illegal, to say the minimum, therefore he was arrested and condemned for his crimes against Paris. Ladybug has always agreed that Hawkmoth was the only thing making it not possible for them to reveal their identities, for this reason the reveal happened shortly after the battle.
Consider the fact that Marinette was practically abandoned by her classmates and friends, except Chloe, and when she tried to say something about that fact, she was called petty and a bully, while Adrien was watching all of this and only telling her to be the 'bigger person' and 'take the high road'. Therefore, she didn't really enjoy the disclosure, but she appreciated the enlightenment that it brought to her.
After that day, much to Lila dismay, Adrien let it clear that he loved Marinette. While a larger part of the class was ecstatic by hearing that, because in their mind Marinette would finally stop being jealous and their ship would sail, Chloe was mentally laughing because she knew that everyone was going to learn a long needed lesson.
Adrien decided that he wanted Marinette to be his Valentine's, and taking in account Alya's words the day would go accord to plan. He told Nathalie to schedule a time to pick a bouquet of red roses during lunch time - which would be picked up by someone else and brought to him, in the school - and book a table in one of the most expensive restaurants in Paris, plus that he also ordered his father's employees to prepare his room in a romantic way for that night.
The morning went smoothly, according to Marinette, taking into account that thanks to Lila, she and Chloe haven't had no one trying to ask to be their Valentine's and that was good, especially taking into consideration that both of them are taken.
Later, when it was lunch time, the bluenette started to feel observed, but ignored it telling herself that it was just her Ladybug side showing, after years of having to have eyes everywhere during an Akuma attack. During her conversation with Chloe, she felt someone tapping on her shoulder, uncertainty descended on her at the same time as she looked behind and saw the person that was trying to call her attention. Adrien Agreste stand in front of her, with a dignified Chat Noir smirk and holding a bouquet of red roses, how cliché. Does he even know what red roses mean? Red roses are so overrated that people forget that they are for lasting passion, it's not love. Passion is indeed part of the act of loving, but there's much more than passion in love.
'Why me?' Marinette questioned herself and then turned to her old partner saying "Do you need anything from me? Red roses? I bet Lila will love to be your Valentine's, now if you don't mind, I was having a conversation with my best friend. Can you leave us alone, please?"
"Lila? Those are for you, my lady. Red, you know what I mean. I love you, Marinette" said Adrien.
"No, Agreste, you don't love me. You love the idea of my mask, the woman that is perfect and has to be put on a pedestal. That's not me! It was what I was because Paris needed it, but I'm sometimes clumsy and everyone knows it." said Marinette with a tone of voice that left no room for doubt that she was serious "I'm Marinette, your former friend, that you lost in the day that you said that I should take the high road."
"Stop being petty, Mari. He loves you, that's what you wanted all your life. For god sakes, just kiss him and stop being jealous of Lila." said Alya with anger in his voice.
"Agreste, since I didn't finish what I was saying. Yes, I know what it's the red for and that's cliché as hell, do you at least know that red roses mean lasting passion and not love? To sum up, I'm not your lady, never was and never will be." declared Marinette, only to then turn around and look at Alya "And Césaire, I'm not being petty just because I'm saying no, just because I'm stating my preferences and opinions. I'll never date Adrien Agreste. It's what I always wanted? For god sakes, Césaire, we haven't talked in years. I got over him years ago!!"

"Any problem here?" an unknown voice for some of them was heard, when they looked to the other side of Marinette's and Chloe's table there was 3 boys and a girl, including one of the men was holding a huge teddy bear that had a heart saying 'I love you', while the other has a huge bouquet of flowers, with 6 different flowers: Red Tulips, Lavender Rose, White Carnations, Amaryllis, White Camellia and Pink Roses. The boy that talked was blonde, tall and with ice-blue eyes, he was gorgeous and no one noticed who he really was, until someone said.
"Culpa, last time I checked you went to Rose Heart Academy. Why are you here?" asked Adrien.
"Agreste, long time no see, I preferred like that. As for your question, not that it's any of your business, but I'm here to see my girlfriend." said Felix.
"Girlfriend? She must be desperate to say yes to someone like you. But it's good that you're here, you will be the first to congratulations me on getting a girlfriend" said Adrien with a smirk.
"That's interesting, I thought I had heard her say that she would never date you" provoked Claude with a smirk.
"She was just joking, weren't you Mari?" asked Adrien.
"Pff!" laughed Mari, while rolling her eyes "Felix, I thought I told you to not come to my school and why."
"It's Valentine's, my queen, it's the perfect day to surprise you and pamper you. So... Can you let me see the smile that makes my days?" said Felix smirking while giving her the bouquet. After she placed the flowers on the table, gently, with a smile on her face, she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. A kiss that showed to everyone the love and passion that both of them felt for the other.
"My enemy, Marinette? From all the men in Paris you had to choose my bloody enemy? The heir to my family's enemy family, the bloody heir of Culpa Household and Culpa Designs?! Why him?" shouted Adrien, scaring some of the people that were present.
"Well... First of all, it's not your business. Second, it's Jagged Stone's fault" said Marinette.
"What do you mean by it's Jagged Stone's fault?" inquired Adrien.
"I'm a designer, Jagged's designer to be more precise, in this case. He was invited to go to a gala and he invited me to go with him and Penny as their designer. It was Culpa's Halloween Ball, Jagged and Penny were talking with friends, I got bored, started to distance myself from them until I arrived at the gardens. When I noticed, I was talking with someone that I didn't know who it was" explained Marinette.
"The someone was me. We talked for hours, in a garden bench, until when we realize we were being shaken by someone. We had fallen asleep in the gardens and my friends, my mother, Jagged and Penny were like crazy looking for us because after everyone left, they connected the spots that we were together somewhere." continued Felix.
"It was Jagged and Penny that was shaking us. It was hilarious to see his mother's and his friends' reactions to seeing us together - we were cuddling and sleeping in a garden bench. They were so in shock that they just freeze and were gapping at the sight." said Marinette.
"It was funny for us after, because his mother started saying that he better make a move because she was the right girl to be her daughter-in-law. And guess what? Dear aunt Amelie was right, these two are a pair of lovesick puppies that got us all sick when they are together." provoked Allegra receiving glares from the pupp-I mean, from the couple.
"Talking about mum, my mother and I want to invite you and your parents for dinner. Saturday, 7pm. Are you guys free that day?" asked Felix.
"I'm expensive every day, darling. But yes, I'm available. For my parents, I have to ask, but I think so." answered Marinette.
"Perfect. Next thing we know their parents are going to start asking for marriage and grandchildren" provoked Allan only to start laughing when he saw the couple go pale.
"They already did it, didn't they?" Asked Claude with a smirk receiving a positive answer from the couple.
"I would pay to see that" said Chloe laughing earning a glare from her two friends.
"Marinette, I'm still here" said Adrien.
"Ooh... I had forgotten about him, " whispered Marinette to Felix making him sneer "What do you need?" asked Marinette.
"Are you not going to answer me?" asked Adrien making Marinette's friends and boyfriend burst out laughing, while she gives him an angry stare.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" shouted her, "Do you need me to draw or what? Does your father really expect an oblivious git like you to take over the Gabriel brand? You will sink it in less than 48 hours. I'll repeat it slowly and clearly for everyone to hear: NOT. EVEN. IF. YOU. WERE. THE. LAST. MAN. ALIVE!" declared her picking up her things, holding Felix's hand and starting walking away from there been followed by their friends.
"WAIT... Didn't Lila say yesterday that she was dating Culpa's heir? The same Culpa's that, as we saw now it's part of Agreste's enemy family? So... Why didn't Adrien correct her? Or at least distance himself from her, if he was ignorant about it? If Culpas and Agrestes are enemies, their spouses are enemies of the other family as well. So, Adrien why didn't you distance yourself from Lila when she said that? We now know that she lied, obviously taking into account that he just left with Marinette after surprising her because she is his Valentine's, but... How would you know that yesterday? Only if... "take the high road" Marinette said. You knew about everything and still left us ignore Marinette, ghost her and call her awful names when she tried to defend herself. " said Alya with a disappointed and hurt tone in her voice, "I lost my best friend, because of you two. Because I was stupid enough to think that she would go to this extreme just because of a boy. " said Alya while crying and being hugged by Nino.
"What did you mean by 'my lady' and red having a meaning?" asked Max, after remembering something that was mentioned before.
"She's Ladybug. I'm Chat Noir. There, there's all the meaning that you could ask for, Max. And just because of an asshole, your ships didn't sail Alya. Are you not sad? Adrienette and Ladynoir, isn't it your dream?" declared Adrien, revealing his identity and Marinette's, without even thinking twice. He was mad with Marinette for rejecting him and with Alya for disclosing the truth, so this, this was the unique way that he could think of getting revenge against them.
"Don't you dare, Agreste. I'm not letting you manipulate my girlfriend's feelings. And that, that is why Marinette is not interested in you anymore. Because she always saw the real you, the Chat Noir side. You want to be loved? Try to learn how to accept a no first. You lost her before you even knew that she was Ladybug, before you saw the real girl behind the mask. Move on! As her friends said, she's practically already a Culpa. Isn't it expected from you to hate him and her?" asked rhetorically Nino.
"SHE'S NOT A CULPA! And she will never be one, if I have something to say about it. Ladybug and Chat Noir are soulmates, they have always been together. It won't change now. When Monday approached, Adrien was surprised with a journal being thrown to his plate by his father, while reading the title he wished for it to be a nightmare, but his father's words made it clear that he was living the nightmare.
"A Culpa, by blood, marriage or adoption, will always be our enemy. Ladybug or not, she has chosen her side, she's now your enemy. Stay away from Marinette Dupain-Cheng, she's a Culpa's fiancée, she's out limits. I hope you understood!"
