Lila Rossi is always the person other people are jealous of.
She’s never been the jealous one.
Until today.Lila Rossi has never been a person to get jealous of other people. Rather, people are jealous of her. And why shouldn’t they be? Her travels and knowing celebrities is an impressive feat! And when she sees jealousy flash in a person’s eyes at the tales that she manages spin, Lila has a sense of satisfaction at being top of the world.
She has been the person that other people are jealous of.
She’s never had a reason to be the jealous one.

Lila picked up her phone, unlocked it, and opened up the app for Instagram, where she was following Marinette, at the urging of the class.
( She pointedly ignores that the ones who disapprove are Nathaniel, Chloe, Sabrina, Adrien, and Juleka.)
(And Lila most definitely ignores the way her grip on the rectangular device had tightened when she realized that although she had followed Marinette on the popular social media app, the pig tailed girl had made no effort to follow her back.)
She resists the urge to throw her phone at the wall, as she takes in the photos of what must be Marinette’s new bedroom. Her new spacious, luxurious bedroom that has a private bathroom. Apparently the rumors floating around Dupont were in fact true. The second location of the Dupain-Cheng bakery is located in a very affluent neighborhood.
Lila refuses to give anymore attention to the young designer and decides to refresh her feed, hoping that will work and she’ll be spared posts from the girl. And it works!
Thankfully no posts from Marinette show up.
However, as she scrolls, Lila comes across other posts that mention Marinette. How much they’ll miss having her at Dupont. How it won’t be the same without her. How lucky Marinette is to be attending her new school, a private academy that makes Dupont look like a pond, and how cute Marinette looks in her uniform!
Lila ignores the feeling of jealousy that surges through her. She isn’t jealous of some baker’s daughter! She’ll have Dupont eating out of her hand, now that Maribrat is out of the picture, it won’t be long before she takes Chloe’s place as Queen Bee.
Now, there’s something she could work on.
And putting Marinette out of her head.
…That was easier said than done when all anyone in Dupont could talk about was Marinette.
Even her flock would join in!
From how, according to the grapevine, Marinette was thriving at her new school.
How apparently, her online commission business was really taking off.
But what really made Lila want to tear her hair out was a photo from Chloe’s Instagram that she just so happened to stumble across, purely by accident. It was of the heiress and Marinette, but the girl wasn’t in her usual pigtails, and she was dressed nicely.
Really nice.
And the caption was a teasing, don’t have too much fun Mari! They grow up so fast.
And it wasn’t until she heard through the whispers that Marinette had gone on a successful date with Félix Graham de Vanily, that Lila gripped her phone so hard, that it really did crack.
