A/n: tiny trigger warning, just to be sure cause I care about you all. It's nothing much, but it might pass as self harm. It's way ahead, I'll put a ⚠️ there.
With the new rule of getting to go wherever they please, the three villains didn't see Papillon a lot all of a sudden.
Gyro figured out first why, and he felt conflicted about it.
He ended up doing anything to keep his mind off it. He went to the forest once, he went exploring, he found himself baking before Arawaru took over because everything was burnt. He even tried to focus on the tv, but he couldn't quite do that.
He tried to draw with Tsuki and he even went to plan and execute a prank with Arawaru. He tried to stay up late, fell asleep and eventually he sat in a test and failed completely as his brain felt as though it was rotting.Life seemed to go on though, and Hound Dog's weekly check in was mandatory.
Even when Gyro would just sit and stare in silence. He really wasn't looking forward to it now, cause something was actually bothering him.
He didn't even know exactly how. He could definitely guess though, and that's what he didn't want.Hound Dog sat down with a sigh. The silent room annoyed him like every week . He just couldn't get this kid to talk.
"How are you today?"
"Alive, I guess." Gyro muttered.
Hound Dog found the slight hint of annoyance, but hid his vague clue about it. He didn't want to scare Gyro off by getting excited about it.
"We talked after the sports festival, you seemed a bit put out then."
An annoyed sigh left Gyro. "Can we not with the questions today?"
"Sorry," Hound Dog said, trying to chose his cards right, "Is it bothering you?"
"No shit, you must be a shit therapist to not notice that."
Hound dog gave a shrug. "I'd understand if you'd tell me what's bothering you."
"I..." Gyro stopped himself quite immediately and crossed his arms, "I'm not gonna be brainwashed. Sorry."
A chuckle left hound dog as he thought about it. "Sorry for laughing, but I don't mean any harm, nobody here does."
"It's not?" Gyro said sarcastically, "That's what my dad said before he shoved a hand full of ash down my throat."
A moment passed where Hound Dog felt very successful. —even if that comment was sarcastic, wrong, and traumatised just now.
"He did that?" Hound dog asked, suddenly feeling horrified at the idea of it.
"I'd like to say no," Gyro rolled his eyes.
The meaning of those words?
Hound dog refrained on taking notes like crazy and simply sighed.
"Kid, nobody should have to go though that."Gyro smiled.
"That's what my past therapist said, before she found out I didn't have a quirk yet."Quirk discrimination? Gyro's file had said he was a late bloomer, or that his quirk only showed late— it wasn't exactly an obvious one.
"If you don't mind me asking—"
"Oh I mind," Gyro got up suddenly, "Very much, now leave me the fuck alone."
Hound Dog watched him leave and sighed softly.
He needed a way for Gyro to trust him, because this was going nowhere. He could technically restrain him, but that would be bad, so Hound Dog let him leave. For now.

He was pissed.
Very angry. So angry in fact, that he almost considered walking up to Nezu and turning on all the devices in the support course labs.
But he didn't. Instead Gyro walked to his room and closed the door loudly, startling Tsuki who suddenly made a large mistake in her drawing. Her eyes widened in horror at it.Silence fell that evening.
Until Gyro woke up suddenly.
After taking a long shower he was considering using his quirk for no reason, just to do something to prove to himself that... what did he have to prove? To whom?
While he tried to get water from his hair (which he always thought the most annoying thing in the world) he found himself in the mirror. His eyes stared back, his eyes.
Before he could think about it he threw his fist into the mirror, right where he found his eyes.
A chuckle left him at the idea of what he did, but then his face fell at what he just did. Blood fell from his hands as shards seemed to stick out of it.
How to fix that?
And god— that was such a move— like he must have looked so stupid—Thoughts came like gasps he didn't know which one was supposed to stand out and which one he should ignore.
He ended up staring at his hand as he bled.Which after a while made him feel sick and dizzy.
Now what? This was simply put confusing.
Looking around the bathroom he found something to throw around his hand. He walked back into his room and fell into bed, not caring about the blood still seeping from his hand softly. It probably wouldn't kill him, and if so, he'd just revive in the same room. Sure his dead body would be in the way for a moment, but it'd disappear eventually.
With that thought Gyro fell asleep.Only to get woken up that morning.
He grumbled to himself, feeling more and more tired by the second.
Nothing went his way, why?
