Mili sat in the lavish room, her eyes scanning the opulence around her. The luxurious decor, the plush furniture, and the elaborate flower arrangements felt suffocating. Suddenly, she heard footsteps approaching. Her heart raced as she spotted a fruit basket on the table. Desperation seized her, and she grabbed a knife, holding it tightly as she stood by the door, ready to strike.
The door creaked open, and Ishan entered. Without hesitation, Mili lunged at him, aiming the knife. Ishan, with quick reflexes, blocked her attack, gripping her wrist firmly. He burst into laughter, a dark, mocking sound that echoed in the room.
"Mili, Mili," he said, shaking his head. "Now you're Ishan Malhotra's wife, and you're trying to kill someone with a fruit cutter knife? Think bigger, baby."
"Leave me," Mili spat, her voice filled with anger and frustration.
Ignoring her words, Ishan moved closer, his eyes locking onto hers. He leaned in and kissed her lips boldly. Shocked and furious, Mili slapped him hard across the face. Ishan's expression hardened, but a cold, arrogant smile remained.
He handed her an elegant dress. "Get ready," he ordered, his voice icy. "We're attending a business party tonight. You're coming as my wife."
Mili glared at him, but an idea sparked in her mind. This could be her chance to escape. She took the dress reluctantly but masked her emotions with a forced smile.
"Fine," she said, pretending to be cooperative. "I'll get ready."
Ishan watched her for a moment, suspicion flickering in his eyes, but he turned and left the room. As soon as he was gone, Mili's mind raced with plans for her escape. She knew this party might be her only opportunity to get away from Ishan's clutches. Determined, she began her makeover, her heart pounding with a mix of fear and hope.
After some time, Ishan, impeccably dressed in a tailored suit, went to call Mili. She stepped out of the room, wearing the stunning black dress he had given her. Ishan's eyes were riveted on her; she looked breathtakingly beautiful.
"You clean up nice," he said, unable to hide his admiration.
Mili gave a small, tense smile. "Thanks. Let's just get this over with."
Ishan nodded, his eyes softening as he took in her appearance. He gently took her hand and led her downstairs to the drawing room, where his family awaited. As they entered, Ishan's mother, her eyes brimming with tears, approached them.
"Mili, my dear," she said, her voice trembling with emotion. "You look beautiful. Bless you both."
Mili could feel the genuine affection in Ishan's mother's words and gestures. Despite her confusion and fear, she sensed the deep love and concern emanating from this woman. It tugged at her heart, making her momentarily forget her dire situation.
"Thank you," Mili replied softly, trying to muster a smile.
They moved toward the car parked outside. Instead of letting the driver open the door, Ishan did it himself, his touch gentle yet firm. As they drove through the city, Mili's initial plan to escape seemed increasingly impossible. The security, the vigilance, and Ishan's constant presence left her with no opportunity.
"Ishan, where are we really going?" she asked, trying to sound casual.
"Just a business party," he replied, his voice calm. "I need you by my side."
"Why?" she pressed. "Why do you need me there?"
"Because you're my wife now," he said, glancing at her. "And because I need to show the world that you're mine."
Realizing escape wasn't feasible tonight, she decided to postpone her idea. Instead, she tried to focus on the moment, observing the city lights flashing by and feeling the cool breeze on her face.
Ishan, sensing her unease, placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Relax, Mili. Tonight, just try to enjoy yourself."
His touch was unexpectedly soothing, and despite her resolve, she found herself leaning into his embrace slightly. "I'll try," she whispered, more to herself than to him.
The car ride continued in a strange mix of tension and reluctant comfort, with Mili caught between her fear and the undeniable connection she felt with Ishan. As they neared their destination, she couldn't help but wonder what the night would bring and how she would navigate the complicated web of emotions and power dynamics surrounding her.
