Mili's heart ached as she watched Ishan and a ledy step into their villa. The cold, distant interaction between them set off a pang of unease.

The ledy is alina.
Alina, her eyes icy, glanced at Mili with disdain. “So, you’re the one pretending to be Mili,” she said sharply. “Ishan, why are you even bothering with her? She’s just a gold digger.”

The sting of Alina’s words was palpable. Mili’s face turned red with humiliation and confusion. She bolted to her room, slamming the door behind her.

When she heard the doorbell ring signaling Alina's departure, Mili emerged and found Ishan sitting at his desk, buried in work. She took a deep breath, trying to keep her voice steady.

“Why are you letting her talk to me like that?” Mili’s voice trembled with hurt.

Ishan barely looked up. “It’s none of your business what she thinks. Alina is just someone from my business circle. You shouldn’t be concerned.”

Mili’s eyes filled with tears. “But why are you treating me like this? Why are you so distant?”

Ishan’s gaze grew colder. “What exactly do you want me to do, Mili? Roll out the red carpet? You’re here because I made a commitment, not because you’re the center of my universe.”

Mili’s heart sank. “Is it so wrong to want to understand why you’re pushing me away? And why are you so rude to me? Who is Alina really?”

“Do you want to join me at the party with Alina?” Ishan snapped. “Or are you too busy wallowing in your self-pity to care?”

Mili flinched at the harshness in his voice. “I just want to focus on my studies. Can you get me some new books? I want to start preparing again.”

Ishan’s expression softened for a brief moment before he masked it with his usual hardness. “Fine. I’ll arrange it. But don’t expect me to hold your hand through everything.”

A couple of hours later, Ishan’s assistant arrived with a pile of books and stationery. Mili accepted them silently, trying to concentrate on her studies, though her mind was clouded by the pain of Ishan’s coldness and the uncertainty of her situation.

Ishan left the mansion, driving his car alone, a sign of his desire for privacy and control. Mili watched from the window, her heart heavy with the sight of him leaving. She fought to keep her emotions in check, focusing on her studies, though her mind was troubled.
Ishan drove away from the mansion, leaving Mili alone with her thoughts. She watched him leave, feeling a pang of unease mixed with confusion. As Ishan headed towards the meeting place, he was unaware that Paul was waiting for him, ready to confront him with what he believed was the final blow.

When Ishan arrived at the upscale venue, Paul greeted him with a forced smile that barely concealed his disdain.

“Ah, Mr. Malhotra,” Paul said, his voice laced with mock politeness. “The game is over. Mili is mine now. You’ve lost her.”

Paul threw a file onto the table between them. “This file contains every single detail about Mili. I’ve got the upper hand now.”

Ishan eyed the file with a cold smile. “You’re quite confident, aren’t you? But your information is incomplete.”

Paul’s eyes widened. “Incomplete? What do you mean by that?”

Ishan picked up the file, flipping through it without really looking. “Mr. Paul, you see, I’m not the villain in your story. I’ve been hurt more deeply than you could ever imagine. Mili was always meant to be mine from the start.”

Paul clenched his jaw, trying to maintain his composure. “And what about all this evidence? It seems pretty damning to me.”

Ishan’s smirk grew colder. “Evidence can be misleading. You’re chasing shadows while the real threat remains hidden. The true villain is someone else entirely, someone who has been manipulating everything from the shadows.”

Paul’s frustration was palpable. “Then why are you still holding onto her? If you’re not the villain, why not let her go now?”

Ishan’s expression hardened. “I will give Mili the choice when she’s fully recovered. Until then, I’m bound to protect her and seek out the truth. You need to find the real culprit. I won’t let Mili suffer any longer.”

Paul’s face flushed with a mix of anger and uncertainty. “You think you can control everything? You’re playing a dangerous game.”

Ishan leaned in, his voice low and intense. “I’m not playing games. I’m trying to protect Mili and uncover the truth. If you truly care about her, you’ll focus on finding the real enemy, not just trying to take her from me.”

Paul was momentarily taken aback, struggling to reconcile Ishan’s words with his own beliefs. “Fine. I’ll take your word for it, but know this—I will not rest until I get to the bottom of this. I’ll find out who’s really behind all of this.”

They both knew that the battle was far from over. Paul and Ishan signed a contract, agreeing to a temporary truce as they each pursued their own paths to uncover the truth and protect Mili.

As Ishan left the meeting, he felt a mix of relief and determination. He was resolved to continue his quest to protect Mili and unravel the mysteries that surrounded her.

Night fell, and as the hours ticked by, Ishan still hadn't returned home. Mili paced her room, her mind racing with worry and frustration. She couldn't understand why he was ignoring her and what he was hiding. Determined to find some answers, she decided to enter his room, hoping to uncover clues about where he might have gone.

As she stepped into Ishan's room and flicked on the light, Mili's breath caught in her throat. The sight before her was overwhelming: thousands of her pictures covered the walls and littered the floor. Images of her as a baby, a child, a teenager, and a young woman filled the space. There were photos of her in the hospital, candid moments from her life, and sketches that Ishan had painstakingly drawn. Each picture seemed to tell a story of love and devotion.

Mili's eyes scanned the room, taking in the overwhelming evidence of Ishan's obsession with her. The memories flooded back, hitting her like a tidal wave. She remembered everything: her childhood, her real parents, her time with Ishan. The realization of how deeply he cared for her and the lengths he had gone to protect her was too much to bear.

Her knees buckled, and she collapsed to the floor, her mind spinning with the weight of the revelations. She couldn't hold on any longer, and everything went black as she lost consciousness.

Moments later, Ishan entered the room, his heart pounding as he saw Mili lying on the floor. Panic surged through him, and he rushed to her side, gently cradling her in his arms.

"Mili, please wake up," he whispered, his voice trembling with fear and guilt. "I'm so sorry. I never meant for you to find out like this."

Tears streamed down his face as he held her close, his heart breaking at the sight of her so vulnerable. He felt a deep ache in his chest, knowing that his actions had caused her pain. He kissed her forehead tenderly, his own emotions threatening to overwhelm him.

His assistant, having heard the commotion, rushed into the room with a doctor. The doctor quickly assessed Mili, reassuring Ishan that she would be okay, but that she needed rest.

As they moved Mili to her bed, Ishan couldn't tear his eyes away from her. He was determined to protect her, no matter the cost. He knew that the road ahead would be challenging, but he was willing to face it all for her sake.

He stayed by her side, holding her hand, and vowed to uncover the truth and bring justice to those who had wronged her. And as he watched over her, he silently promised to win back her trust and prove that his love for her was genuine and unwavering.
