"You guys just cuddled?"
I placed a finger on top of my lips to indicate for her to be silent. She made an apologetic expression and grinned at the new guy. We'd recently hired him as he saw one of our flyers since we needed a new employee.
James was embarrassed by Michelle so much he said he needed a few days off and without saying anything else to our boss, he'd rushed out of his office with no words. Allie had been joking about it for the past few hours, but realised the pain of being an embarrassment and stopped.
"So, uhm," She stuttered, looking at the new person who'd arrived a few minutes ago. "What's your name?" He glanced up at us, sighing, and pushed his glasses further up his nose.
"I'm Lukas," He displayed a smile. "18, just got kicked out of school because I failed my GCSEs and now I need money for college."
"Oh." Allie's welcoming smile dropped. "Sorry." She immediately went to the back of the bakery to get a few trays of bread out. I shrugged at her awkwardness and worked on tidying up the register.
I had woken up this morning to me and Oscar literally cuddled up on the sofa. He said he didn't mind and teased me about it until I'd gotten ready for work. Since he 'loved' my house so much he said he wanted to stay for a few more days.
I gave him permission and dropped my spare keys with him. I trusted him. He said he'd probably be out exploring the town all day and trying to find different kinds of snacks. I assured him since we'd be shutting down for a few weeks for rennovation, I'd get to spend more time with him.
Lukas seemed a bit anxious when the first customer came in. It was a student, I suspected, that came to get her breakfast. I gave Lukas the opportunity to try and it went brilliantly. Which meant I had the chance to join Allie at the back, even if it wasn't my role.
"How's it going with Lando?" I teased, as she rolled her eyes.
"Fine. Since we're taking a break, I've been asked out to go on a date with him to fucking Wetherspoon. Classic place to watch sports," Allie smiled. "He says he wants to catch on a bit with football. So we decided on a day where football's back on."
"Nice." I nodded and scanned the shelves for more ingredients we needed to order on.
"How's it going with Oscar?" She fired back at me.
"We're just playing it cool, y'know?" I helped her roll up some dough. "We're probably going to do some shopping over the rennovation of the bakery."
"Shopping. Lando said he hated shopping so I slapped him," Allie pursed her lips at the thought. "I kept apologising while he was crying of laughter. It was really chaotic, since we were in public."
"So last night?" I frowned.
She nodded. "We went shopping for some food we could put in the microwave. It was in Tesco's. I went really red for slapping him and he had to comfort me on the way home."
"Chaotic bunch," I shook my head. "When am I going to be a Godmother?"
"Olivia!" Allie snapped, but she had a bright grin on her face. "Oh my lord."
"I was joking." I hit her playfully, which sent a bunch of flour flying into the air. We both dodged the powder and burst out laughing.
"Hey!" She exclaimed. Before I could shout back, Lukas had came into the room. He stared at us blankly before laughing at the sight of us.
"We've got a man requesting for Liv," He grinned. "What are you doing?" I left those two alone before coming out from the back.
"Oscar!" I said, a bit too loudly. Oscar chuckled. I dusted my hands off of the flour and went around the counter. "Want anything?"
