Allie ran.
As fast as she could. She was barely in anything at all, only in her tank top and shorts and trainers, but she ran pretty quickly as well. Allie took all the running races on Sports Day during her times at primary and secondary school. Needless to say, she got gold every time.
Allie wasn't sure if she could reach the paddock before Qualifying began, but she made her way there faster than anyone could. She called the police immediately after she left the closet, and they would unleash the search team as soon as possible.
She gave them the details: what Liv was wearing, what she looked like, how tall she was. All the little details a best friend could easily describe. What she was most worried about was her phone was on the ground next to Allie's bed. So there was really no way to track her down or so.
She finally reached the gates of the track. Scanned her paddock pass, check. Ran straight to the McLaren garage, check. Found Oscar and Lando... no check. The boys were nowhere to be seen. Except for when she peered more closely, they were already in their cars.
Allie panicked. It would take at least an hour until Q1, Q2 and Q3 finished. By then Liv would've been long gone if the police hadn't found at least a trace of her. She bit her lip at the feeling of Liv never found again.
She was her life support. Nothing else, really. They'd gotten along the day they first met. Got Allie through her first breakup, got her through her rejections and the day she almost got fired from the bakery because she and James spilled a tray full of fresh sour dough bread.
She'd break down and cry if Liv was never found. Allie looked at Oscar's car moving away from the garage and felt a pang of guilt. If she wasn't so weak and didn't listen to Liv to stay in the closet, Liv would still be watching Oscar right now. In the hotel room, but still supporting him all the way.
And Lando too. Lando and Liv clicked right from the start. From both of them being fans of the MotoGP, and her watching Quadrant when the group was first created. And them both hating fish and stuff like that... their friendship was truly unbreakable.
Allie found herself tearing up. Liv's parents as well. They never saw her much, and if she was never found, they would blame themselves for not spending as much time with her as they could. Allie knew they were trying to have a good retirement and support Liv's life by working hard and earning millions by the time Liv was only a teenager, but too much was too much.
Her parents should be spending more time with her, Allie thought as both cars were on track. She hated the fact that Liv rarely saw them during her childhood, and were constantly living with two people she spent more time with than her parents.
After a while when Q1 had finished, a call came through from her phone. She answered quickly.
"Allie here, who's this?" She mumbled, her voice barely heard through the phone.
"Hi, uh, it's the police station here," Her heart skipped a beat. "So. We've found a trace of your friend. We got the hotel security camera's footage and saw her being dragged into a black van at the back of the hotel's building."
"What else?" Allie said, a bit more excited that they got a lead.
"We also have their carplate, which means we can track them down. Problem is that we immediately drove to the place, and found nothing but a big patch of grass," The police reported.
"Impossible!" Allie scowled. "Did you search the grounds for like dents or... anything? Even a lever?"
"Miss, trust me. We've went through the grounds with a metal detector-"
