32. Results

Cassie had an unexpected few weeks. Instead of hanging out with her normal friends, her mother invited her to hang out with some of the people she normally didn't see.

The Selwyn family and the Fawcetts. The Fawcetts had Luciettra who was a few years younger than her and Charlus and Dorea, who were both Hogwarts graduates from about 5-6 years ago. The Selwyns had Faith, Garrick, and Carter, all who were still in various years in Hogwarts.

She didn't mind their company, but she preferred that of her usual friends. They were all getting pretty busy with the war. It was getting more and more apparent everyday what sides people were taking.

Cassie knew the reason that her mother was making them visit their more unusual friends was to recruit them. Although, she made sure that they didn't talk about sending their kids to war. It was bad enough it was happening to her friends and brother at 16, they didn't need to do it younger.

However, today was the day she was anxiously waiting for. Her OWL results.

It came the same day as Hogwarts letters. Their mother called them down stairs and handed each of them their letters.

Cassie stared at her OWL envelope. "I don't think I can do it," she whispered to her brother and he shoved her.

"Do it anyway!" Regulus told her and sighed. She carefully opened the envelope, not wanting to rip it and unfolded the parchment inside.

Cassie didn't move for a minute as she read over the paper multiple times. That was until Regulus snapped to get her attention.

"Well?" He questioned, he hadn't even opened his letter yet, wanting to know her scores as well.

She tried to pretend to be disappointed, but her smile broke through and a grin took over her face. "E's in Herbology, History of Magic, and Care of Magical Creatures and O's in the rest."

Regulus's eyes looked like they were going to jump out of his head, "WHAT? CASS, THAT'S INSANE!" Cassie laughed in joy and he got up out of his seat to hug her.

Walburga kept watching them from the entryway, "Above expectations, well done, Cassie." The girl was surprised by her mother's words, but smiled nonetheless.
