The atmosphere was different and everyone could feel it. It wasn't just the Marauders, the newspapers started showing more and more attacks. Kids started getting pulled out of classes and everyone knew it was nothing good.
The only good thing it seemed that was happening was that it was very well known that Aries Zabini had finally gotten his girl. Him and Camilla Greengrass were together and everyone saw it coming.
They were competitive and flirty. They looked so happy together and people were either happy for them or jealous– there was never an inbetween.
"Really?" Lily asked Asher as they were sitting together in the library.
"Yeah, you don't think so?" Ash asked, he thought that they were as close as you could get to soulmates.
The red-head shrugged, "I didn't know them too well so I'm not sure. I just always thought that they came out as dating after the announcement of their engagement."
The Slytherin chuckled a little, "not anymore, only really old families like to do it that way still, not much of a need for it anymore now that girls don't have to have children before they're 20."
LIly nodded, she was learning a lot about pureblood society and wizarding traditions from him and in turn– he was learning a lot about muggles, "how's your sister?"
Ash didn't say anything for a moment, it was a tough subject. They weren't speaking at the moment. The yelling was still fresh. Right after she got mad at Cassie for having Sirius's back they had a screaming match.
He didn't understand it. He would do the exact same thing if it was her. He could never hate her. Even now he doesn't. "She's okay. Let's talk about you though, Miss top of the class in Charms," he smiled and she smiled back, turning a little red in the face.
"I just really love the subject. I love seeing stuff float in the air. I love the basic magic. The stuff so simple to us, but once seemed impossible. I love making flowers appear and birds coming out of thin air–" Ash loved seeing the look on her face when she talked like that. So excited, so happy, so full of life.
He was always one with quick moves. Him and Regulus kissed before they even got together– even if their first kiss was because he was freaking out about quidditch. So, when his eyes flicked to her lips, he knew what he was going to do. He leaned in and Lily's breathing quickened.
"Uh-um, what–" He leaned even closer, "yeah, okay," she smiled as he closed the distance between them and smashed his lips onto hers.

Evan was walking with Cassie as she was helping explain something he had to do for potions. He was slightly scared for his OWLs and really wanted to do well. He wanted to do as good as he possibly could.
"So, if the directions seem wrong, just do something else?" He asked confusedly and she shrugged.
"That's what I did. Look, Slughorn will have you practice the most commonly used potions on the OWLs and you'll be a pro long before the exam, you have nothing to worry about," she promised him with a laugh and he sighed.
"Copperhead," He told the portrait and it swung open, revealing the Slytherin common room.
They walked inside as he complained about his exams, but something that Cassi saw made her stop in her tracks. He followed her line of sight and there sitting on one of the couches, making out, was Izzy and Theo.
Izzy opened her eyes first and immediately pulled back, seeing her best friend stand there. "No," she whispered and Theo looked around concerned before he saw his ex-girlfriend. "Cassie." The grey-eyed girl backed up before making a run for her dorm. "Cassie!" Izzy yelled, running after her.
