Indeed, at sharp six o'clock in the evening, Han Yu's car stopped in front of the house in the drive way. Wei WuXian got into the back seat of the car and greeted Han Yu with a smile when Han Yu beamed after seeing him. It seemed that this alpha for some reason always stays cheerful and funny.

Han Yu started driving without saying anything else. This left Wei WuXian surprised and a bit disappointed because he thought if Lan WangJi didn't explain anything about the party and about where he is disappeared, he must have told Han Yu to explain... But here Han Yu was just focused on driving without mentioning anything about Lan WangJi.

He didn't know why, but he really wanted to ask Han Yu about Lan WangJi... after all, he hadn't seen the alpha in the past three days, and at this moment, he didn't know if he would see him today or not, even though Han Yu was taking him to the party.

"Mr. Han," the Omega speaks up.

"Yes, Mr. Wei."

Han Yu responds after glancing at Wei WuXian in the mirror.

"Will Lan... will Mr. Lan be there... at the party?" Wei WuXian asks hesitantly and a bit embarrassed for stuttering.

Han Yu looks at him again before grinning and saying, "Of course! Mr. Lan is waiting for you."

Wei WuXian lips involuntarily part, and he smiles softly, lowered his gaze down at his lap as if suddenly feeling shy. The alpha will be there... Lan WangJi is waiting for him; there's no need to be nervous.

"Oh," Wei WuXian responds softly.

The car pulls up in front of the grand hotel after nearly half an hour, and Han Yu courteously opens the door for Wei WuXian. Wei WuXian expresses his gratitude with a smile and follows Han Yu into the hotel. It takes them a few minutes to reach the floor where the party is being held as the elevator doors open with a ding.

Omega's thoughts are consumed by the Alpha, scanning the area in search of Lan WangJi, but alpha is nowhere to be found. Han Yu guides him down a corridor with only a few waiters and waitress going back and forth, yet Wei WuXian's steps suddenly come to a halt.

There he was at the end of this corridor, standing still with his stoic expression yet looking so undeniably.. handsome in that white blue suit. His black ink hairs styled so perfectly, the so-well-fitting three-piece suit.. Wei WuXian blinks when their eyes meet and his heart suddenly flutters with something unknown. How can someone... how can someone exudes such heavenly charm in white attire?

Omega's shining silver eyes were fixed on Lan WangJi, so lost to realise that there were people around him, staring at him. At that moment he didn't know if he walked or ran or fly but he was already standing in front of alpha with a beaming smile on his face, with his heart beating faster, with the world around him fading away. Oh! Did he really missed this annoying alpha so much in past three days?

"You're back...."

Wei WuXian smiles in relief, a feeling he hadn't realized he harbored. He finally saw Lan WangJi after these days. It's a strange sense of relief. But Omega remains unaware of his own odd behavior.

Lan WangJi's serious face breaks into a soft one as his lips curves up and it was then it hit omega that he suddenly snaps out of his own world. He was so startled when Lan WangJi says softly, "Let's go." Wei WuXian blinks when he realised what he was doing just now..

"O-oh!"

The smile immediately vanished from his face and a twinge of disappointment crept in when he realised that he had to put on a act again. But why did he feel disappointed though? Just because the smile Lan WangJi was having right now, the soft voice he was talking in, the gentle gesture to lock their hands were not real, weren't not genuine but just an act? Was this disappointment because of that?
