Wei WuXian hadn't been regularly attending his company and couldn't work properly ever since he heard about his forced, arranged marriage. Initially, he was depressed and couldn't focus on work. Later, he became calm and peaceful when he and Lan WangJi started living together and minding their own business, despite being married, so he worked well during those days. However, two days ago, he was suddenly claimed, and his mind stopped working again.

But thanks to the conversation with Lan WangJi that morning, he felt relieved, even though Lan WangJi's sudden change in behavior was still odd to him. He thought he would get used to this side of Lan WangJi, just like he did last time when Lan WangJi suddenly started talking to him. So, Wei WuXian got back to work.

As the CEO and manager of the entire Wei Corporation, workload was common. Since he couldn't come to work yesterday, they missed a deal with one of their European clients, and now Wei WuXian was worried. He was always perfect at work, but looking at himself now, he knew that perfection was long gone due to his rising depression and anxiety after getting married.

His company had missed a contract and a deal because of him, and now he knew his father and brother would scold him.

He was scowling at himself; it was a profitable and important deal, after all.

Everyone was already aware and stressed about the news by the time he arrived. So, the first thing he did that morning after arriving at his company was attend a meeting. Now, the directors and managers were asking for an answer. What would Wei WuXian say? That he was claimed the night before, was in the hospital due to depression about his scars, and was planning to escape because he was scared of Lan WangJi?

Obviously, he couldn't say those things.

"Everyone, silence!"

Wei WuXian slammed his fist on the table and stood up. Yes, he shouted, his authoritative tone commanding attention. Because when he worked, he wasn't that shy and soft omega; he was a formidable CEO, and here, he needed to be tough. He had enough of these people murmuring and blaming without listening to his side.

The meeting room fell silent, the only sound the breathing of the attendees.

But someone spoke up again, their voice laced with accusation, "Mr. Wei, can you give us a reason? Isn't this irresponsible of you to forget the deal and skip the day?"

Wei WuXian took a deep breath, his eyes narrowing as he struggled to stay calm, "It was a personal issue. I admit my fault."

"Admitting your fault won't do anything," someone else spoke.

"What are you going to do next? We need Liu Corporation as our business partners."

"They are one of the three European companies ready for collaboration. If Liu Corporation turns their back on us, then I'm afraid the rest will do the same. We can't afford to lose them too."

"Are you still not giving us an explanation?!"

Wei WuXian's face darkened, his jaw clenched as he replied calmly, "There's nothing to answer from my side. Giving explanations here won't solve the problem and get the contract signed."

"Isn't that a bit too arrogant of you, and that too from an omega?!" someone spat in anger, their words dripping with venom.

The room fell silent once more, the attendees shocked by the open disrespect towards the CEO. A person sitting on the right side of Wei WuXian, his face red with anger, slammed his fist on the table, "Is this a meeting about work or should I consider it a meeting of people who know no respect and dignity?!"
