My fingers strummed the desk as I waited patiently. She would have called by now seeing how she was so upset when I left, but it puzzled me why she didn't even check in. That's not my place though, she can do whatever she like, but the sheer thought of her lying with that dog...I slammed my fist down hard and swerved up and around the chair so I would be standing and leaning on my hands. This isn't right, she's my mate.

She might have decided to stay with her family, I get it, it's only natural, I guess I will have to move on too.

"What's the trouble Luke?" Bailey slipped through my window gracefully before landing on the balls of her feet. "You look glum."

"I am."

"What's wrong?" She dancing around and went to my fridge.

"I found my mate."

"Alpha found his lioness? Nice." She slyly smirked.

"She of werewolf origins."

"No offense," she came over to me. "They hate us and I'm pretty sure even if she did accept you as her mate, her family definitely wouldn't accept you."

"It's not about them. It's about us."

"They're werewolves, everything's about family. They have villages only with packs, they aren't as free as us Lucas."

"When did you become my mother?"

"When you did this, I'm not losing my Alpha no matter how love struck he is."

"And what about you? Found him yet?'

"No. Why would I? He couldn't handle me."

"Really?"

"Yes. Plus none of these humans or lions do it for me. Trust I've screwed around and no one has that umph."

"Umph?"

"Yes. That sexually umph."

"Maybe you're looking in the wrong species." I joked.

"Maybe I am. Does your mate have any available friends?"

"Wouldn't know she hasn't called me in days."

"Have you accepted the fact she might never call you? She's more inclined to be with her kind Luke."

"You didn't see her, she was so angry at them, she was so happy here and she gave me the look Bailey."

"I bet she did. Luke, it's like those weird Amish humans on TV, they try life outside of their communities and realized they needed home."

"You watch too much human TV."

"I know, my little secret." She smiled. "It's alright Luke. Maybe there's someone out there for you that can replace her. I know it's never going to be the same thing but don't you deserve to be happy? In the end, whoever she choose, she'll be happy, but what about you or the other guy? Do you have backup plans for when she might not choose you? Or are you ready to be alone forever?"

The reality set in just as I sat down on the couch. "No..."

"I'm sorry Luke but I do care about you. You are my Alpha and we have to stick together don't we?"

"She might never call." I sighed brushing my hair back.

"But that's okay," she said cheerful pulling my arms. "We can find you someone."

"I don't want anyone else."

"Don't think like that," she dragged me to the living room window. "There's someone probably in a club or bar waiting for you,"
