Slipping out of the hotel through the window, we leaped from building to building until we got to his loft. He opened the window and dangled over the sill, allowing me to go in first. I slipped in the dark room, and landed on all fours. It smells like him; dark and with a manly musk. My hands dragged across the floor, feeling the hardwood floor gloss against my fingers. The floor was warm, the loft was heated and cozy, something I haven't felt in a while.

The light turned on, and Luke stood there, his leather jacket and jeans looking down at me on the floor. I stood up, brushing off the dirt from my knees. His space was bare. Barer than bare: a couch, a rug, a coffee table, and that's it. Well for the living room at least. I stared at him, waiting for him to tell me something.

"What?"

"What?" He replied.

"Are we just going to stand there?"

"You have something in mind?" He smirked.

"Where are your spare rooms?'

"This is it," He said. "The living room." He pointed to the kitchen. "Kitchen." He pointed to a door to my right. "Bathroom." He pointed to another door. "Front door." Then pointed down a hallway. "Closet and office."

"Where's the bedroom?"

"Wow, you're quick to get me into bed."

"No." I said. "I'm just wondering why your apartment is set up like this? Most importantly, where is your bed? Where do you sleep?"

He smirked and pointed upward. "There."

"On the beams?"

"Yup."

"Why?"

"It's more comfortable, that or the couch."

"You don't want a bed? A soft, comfy bed?"

"Thinking about it," He checked me out. "I might buy one for a specific reason."

"Oh no," I said. "I wasn't meaning that."

"Are you sure?" He stalked closer to me, pressed into my personal space.

"What are you doing?"

"You don't think I know? The come on and that tattoo..."

"What about this tattoo?" I said anxiously.

"It's no secret, it's the Alpha markings. I'm an Alpha." He said

''Great. Just amazing! Two Alpha mates! What the hell is wrong with me?!' I thought while swallowing the lump down my throat. "You too?"

"What do you mean 'you too?'? Who else is an Alpha?"

"So this mark means..."

"You will be the mate to the current Alpha, whoever you meet for the first time."

"I don't understand."

"If my father was Alpha and you met him, then you would be his mate and I wouldn't be here right now. When you met me, I'm your mate."

"Wait, so you knew this whole time?"

"Yes and no. I wasn't sure, but now I do." He said grabbing my wrist. "You're mine."

"What? I ran away from my family because I thought this tattoo meant I was branded by a witch! I'm going home. I'm fine now. I'm not your mate."

"You'll get sick." He said. "You're body will crave me."

"I have a mate."

His eyes darkened and dilated. I watched as his pupils turned into slits and his irises began to swirl like molten lava. "No. You. Do. Not. I. Am. Your. Only. Mate."
