Victor's Point of View
I've never been so anxious and upset my entire life. I scratched the skin off my forearms all last night while pacing around my room. They were so deep that my body took a longer time healing because of it. My mother wrapped my arms in bandages and my father told me not to be such a weakling. I didn't respond and spent the night at Anthony's. Next morning, we headed to Sam's house again, and everyone was up like usual; the tears have run dry, but the moping continued for our dear Sam. Someone I haven't seen since elementary school and the last time I saw her, I figured out she was my mate and then she had an episode before I could even explain to her.
Sam's mother and father numbingly moved about, not really doing anything, but doing everything. The brothers led the search parties and were rarely home. My father has allowed the family to have workers comp, mostly because of my persuasion. We all sat together; another search turned up empty, nothing to do but sit and hope for the best. Were did she go? Was she that afraid?
"I still don't know why she did this?" Anthony asked. "We promised her we would keep her secret, and when Victor became Alpha, no one could do anything to her."
"She was protecting us," Mitch said.
"Yeah right, more like protecting herself." Jordan grumbled, his mate tucked into him and he just petted her hair.
"Jordan take that stick out of your ass," Rosen snapped. "She was protecting us."
"From what? She's a girl and doesn't even shift! How the hell is she supposed to kill us?"
"It's the witches and demons Jordan," Mitch said. "she could make a bomb or gas us or something. It has happen."
"I don't think we would let her though." Jordan said. "I wouldn't let her."
"If it came down to it: would you kill her if you had to,"
"What?"
"Would you kill Sammi if you had to?"
"No! Why would I kill her? She's my sister too Mitch?!"
"If she threatened the life of Molly, would you kill her?"
He gritted his teeth and Molly poked out from his side. "He wouldn't need too. I wouldn't let that happen."
"What if-"
"Stop." I demaned, suddenly nauseous from the thoughts of having to kill Sam. "No more."
"But-"
"Stop! This isn't the time for this. Your mother is grieving over the lost of Sam."
"You're talking about her like she's dead."
"We have to take that into consideration. We can't find her."
"She doesn't want to be found. Doesn't mean she's dead."
"50/50 chance Jordan."
"Yeah, 50/50 chance Victor."
I glared, standing. I can see why everyone hates him. I excused myself and walked out onto the front porch for air when Anthony came trailing behind.
"Left my phone on the car."
I nodded and he walked down the gravel driveway to his car. Soon as his body was covered by the trees and shrubs, I sat on the patio furniture, watching the sky. You would have never thought on this beautiful day that we were grieving of someone we cared about.
I heard footsteps coming from the left, breaking through the forest lining. I looked over curiously, wonder what animal wondered in, when I see a petite, long, brown haired, hazel eyed girl that look just like Sam. It took me a minute to realize:
