Chapter Four

"You are feeling okay Sammi?" Rosen asked me that following Monday. Us teens decided that juniors and seniors would have a day at the beach. Music, food, swimming, and fun in the sun were all they could think about, I on the other hand, was still a little nausea from last weekend's events.

"Peachy," I lied. I'm becoming really good at it lately.

"Sure?"

"Yes, Lexi." I gathered and smiled at the both of them. "Why don't you guys go find Neil and Jake and go make out or something. It'll make me really happy."

Alexi was the first one to dash away and tackled Neil to the sand halfway across the beach. Rosen wasn't so eager. She stood tapping her foot and gave me a stern look.

"You're keeping secrets," She said.

'Yes I am! I'm some weird freak with a tattoo and was almost raped by the principal!' However what left my mouth was. "Why would I keep secrets from you? I just don't want to be a third wheel to your relationship."

She sighed and took the convincing lie. "Fine, but I'll check in with you soon okay?"

"Okay mom," I smiled lying down on my towel and slipping on my sunglasses.

She turned and I watched her walk away and sit down into the arms of Jake who whispered something in her ear and made her giggled. I never hear Rosen giggle before and my inside turn in jealousy of her happiness. I'm stuck here alone. I decided a walk would help me not be so tense so I gathered my towel and shoulder bag and slung it over and walked the opposite direction of everyone along the shore line. Water splashed against my ankles and after about a half an hour walking distance, a brown and orange football rolled to my feet becoming partially wet and sandy. I picked it up and looked at the direction from where it was thrown and as it should be it, Anthony held his arms up to me.

"Déjà vu," He shouted. "Can I have that back? And this time don't try collapsing my lungs."

"Ha, ha." I laughed humorlessly while walking over to him and his shirtless friends. I handed him the ball directly. "Here."

"Thank you," He pulled me into a sideways hug and turned us around. "Hey guys, I want you to meet the girl who almost killed me."

"Really?" I looked up at him. "I didn't and you're fine."

"Still hurts to breath." He rubbed his bare chest, and I rolled my eyes. I noticed the same eleven guys from before and four new ones. One of them being Victor. My insides fluttered nervously. What the hell?

"Samantha," He pointed to the group of new guys. "Victor, Liam, Jack, and Colin. Guys," He pointed to me. "The infamous Samantha."

"You really let a girl hurt you?" Liam laughed.

"She had taken some type of steroid or something," He defended.

"Steroids don't work on us and you now that," I explained looking up at him. He scoffed and playfully pushed me away. I noticed Victor staring at me but I didn't look back at him, afraid I would die of embarrassment.

"Whatever," He said and walked back to the group of them. I shook my head and walked back to the shoreline. I pulled my hand in the pockets of my purple shorts and head back towards the party and away from the football game.

"Samantha." I rough, husky voice said perky my ears almost immediately. I shivered and looked back locking eyes with Victor. I looked at him and his eyes lit up like he found out like heaven really existed and I knew what just happened. He found his mate. It was me. I turned away and my stomach lurched like I ate something really bad. I headache shot through my bringing me to my knee. Breathing became difficult and my vision blurred.
