Chapter 3

"How you feeling today?" Rosen and Alexi asked me as we walked the local mall two towns over, with the permission of our parents and the Alpha.

"Fine, and you?"

"You know what we mean," Alexi gripped my arm as we walked into Macys.

"Better than ever." I lied. My tattoo burned every time a foreign person touches it. Like someone was branding me. It grew slight, with more intricate swirls and patterns and I looked in the book and nothing was written about this. I was learning blindly about this thing. No one can touch my left side and every time I think a boy is cute, it snaps me like rubber bands. I picked up several dresses and decided I was going to buy it. I found a knitted hat, some sunglasses, and a few scarves. I brought them and walked back with my friends and we walked passed the food court.

"I'm starving," I stated as we got into Rosen's car.

"Want to go to PowPows?"

"Sure," I said and Alexi nodded from the back seat.

We drove home, playing Katy Perry lowly. We turned into the parking lot of PowPows and we walked inside. This was the first time I've been back since my incident. Mitch was there was Messika, whispering something in her ear when we walked in. She noticed me immediately and pulled me into a tight hug. I patted her back she looked back at me worried.

"Are you okay?"

"Perfect." I lied.

"You sure?"

"Yes," I said and watched as Rosen and Alexi found a booth in the back. She patted my shoulder and walked with me to the table. I sat down next to Alexi and we ordered a bunch of appetizers and some drinks. Messika put in our orders.

"So what now?"

"I don't follow," I said playing with sugar packet.

"Summer is coming, are we going up north to Rosen's parents' cabin or what?"

"They said it was okay," Rosen explained. "Lexi and I are going, how about you?"

"I'll ask my parents." I said.

"Okay then," She said and then a huge grinned appeared on her face. "Did you hear the news guys?"

"What?" I asked curiously.

"I heard I think," Alexi smiled back.

"What?" I snapped.

"Well, Mr. Preston is coming back from Europe."

"Mr. Preston...the Alpha's son? I thought he'd permanently lived there with his uncle?"

"Bordering school/ boot camp I heard. Best in the world. All Alphas train there from the ages of thirteen to about nineteen."

"Okay then," I said. "And?"

"Well, the heir is coming home and the guys are having a big party for him."

"A dude we haven't seen in six years." I mumbled.

"He Skype's."

"Sure," I said. "That counts."

"All the guys grew up together and when he left they changed a lot. Now that he's coming back, they're going all out for his coming home party and all teens above sixteen can come."

"You totally coming," Alexi squealed.

"I don't know," I bit my lip. "I'm scared I might have an episode."

"You'll be fine," Rosen touched my arm. "It's this Friday and at Spencer's Club. Bring I.D."

"Fine," I gritted and watched as Messika brought out the food and drinks.
