Chapter 22

Sid: Hi Rahul

Rahul: Hey Sid, tum yaha kaise? Tum to Ghar Gaye the na? Phir?

Sid: Uh...vo...vo mai...

That's when Rahul noticed someone behind Sid.

Rahul: Sid, ye kon hai?

Sid: Ye, ye mera dost hai.

Rahul: Oh! Hi myself Rahul Sharma. And you?

Rahul asked Ashu, forwarding his hand.

Ashu: Hi I'm Ashutosh Nigam.

Ashu shook his hand with Rahul's.

Sid: Rahul, Abhishek kaha hai?

Rahul's face felt hearing his name. This confused the other two.

Rahul: Abhishek? Oh! I got why you have come. Sid, please don't hurt him. Vo already bohot suffer kar raha hai. Don't hurt him more. Please! I request you. Please!

Sid and Ashu's eyes widened after hearing it.

Sid: Wh-what do you mean?

Rahul: Sid, pichle ek hafte se Abhishek apne room se rarely bahar aata hai. Agar aata hai to seedha backyard me baithta hai. Kuch khata nahi hai. Hum kaise baise use ek time ka khana khilate hai. Bohot tuta hai vo. Humesha rota rehta hai. Kuch wierd sa behave karta hai. Jaise use kuch aur dikh raha ho aur sunai de raha ho. He is broken Sid. Humne Rajat Sir (Psychology Teacher) se baat ki uske baare me. Humne unhe bataya vo kaisa behave kar raha hai. Unhe shak hai ki use Psychosis detect hua ho.

The floor slipped beneath Sid and Ashu's feet. Ashu was about to fall but Sid supported him, preventing him from falling.

Ashu (whispered): Shek... Mera Shek... He is suffering... Aur mujhe pata bhi nahi tha... Mai kitna bura Bhai hu... I-I need to see him. V-vo mujhe dekhke theek ho jayega. Ha I need to see him. Siddharth, please mujhe Shek ke paas le chalo.

Ashu started crying imagining his Shek's condition. He was so scared for him. Sid rubbed his back to calm him. Tears flew from Sid's eyes too. Rahul was shocked seeing Sid's friend crying for Abhi's condition. After sometime Ashu got calmed.

Sid: Kuch nahi hoga Abhay ko. Hum hai na? Uska Ashu aagaya hai uske paas. Kuch nahi hoga use.

Ashu nodded and composed himself. Sid in his tension didn't understand that he had addressed Abhishek as Abhay.

Sid: Rahul, Abhay is wakt kaha hai?

Rahul: Pata nahi. Maybe backyard me ho. Par Sid, ye Abhishek ka kon lagta hai? Like ye itna kyu ro raha hai? Ye to tumhara friend hai na? Aur isne apna chehra kyu chupaya hai?

Sid and Ashu looked at each other.

Sid and Ashu were going to enter the college that's when Sid realised that Abhi and Ashu looked the same. If Ashu came like that, it can create a great chaos as all will refer to him as Abhishek. Ashu can't come like this inside.

Sid: Wait. You can't go like this.

Ashu (confused): What?

Sid: Tum aur Abhishek same dikhte ho. Sab tumhe Abhishek samjhege aur bohot chaos hoga agar Abhishek aur tum sabke saamne ek saath aaye to. You need to cover your face. Ek baar Abhishek se mille phir it's ok. Abhishek ko tumhare baare me pata chalne se pehle we can't afford someone else knowing you.

Ashu: You're right. Par mere paas kuch nahi hai jisse mera chehra dhake.

Sid: Don't worry. Ye FC Road hai. Yaha sab milta hai. Tum yahi ruko. Mai 2 minute me aaya.

Saying this, Sid crossed the road and returned after 2 minutes with something in his hand.

Sid: Take this. Ye mask lagao chehre pe.

Ashu nodded and wore the mask. Then they entered the college premises. Sid saw Rahul and stopped him to ask about Abhi's whereabouts.

Sid and Ashu snapped out of their thoughts when Rahul snapped his fingers in front of them.

Rahul: Maine kuch pucha.

Sid: Rahul, abhi is sab ka wakt nahi hai. Humara Abhay se milna bohot jaruri hai.

Sid was panicking. He was getting bad vibes. His heart was telling him that something bad is gonna happen. Ashu too was getting the same feelings. He suppressed his panic thinking about Abhi. But deep down he was getting scared of losing Abhi.

Sid: Ashutosh, ek kaam karte hai. Tum room me dekho, mai backyard me dekhta hu. Jisse bhi Abhay mil jaye vo dusre ko call karega. Don't know why, par mujhe kuch theek nahi feel ho raha. We shouldn't waste the time. Rahul, tum please ise Abhay aur mere room tak le jao. Ashutosh take my number. Aur agar Abhay mile to call karna.

Ashu nodded and they exchanged their numbers. Sid ran in the backyard thinking Abhi would be there as whenever he feels low, he sits there only. Rahul took Ashu towards the hostel. Sid searched the whole backyard but found nothing. He thought that Abhi would be in his hostel room. So he ran towards the hostel. He was passing through one room when he heard some talking and laughing. He wanted to ignore them as at that moment Abhi and Abhi's safety mattered to him more. He was going ahead but froze on his place hearing Abhi and his name. His feet unknowingly took him near the room, to listen to their talks. But the next line shocked him to the core. Tears welled in his eyes.

At Ashu's side
Rahul took Ashu towards Abhi and Sid's room.

Rahul: Ye hai Abhishek ki room.

Ashu saw it locked from inside and smiled slightly finding Abhi. In his happiness, he forgot to call Sid. Ashu knocked on the door, calling Abhi softly. But got no response. He banged on the door telling Abhi to open it but instead heard Abhi's cries. Ashu got shocked and started saying soft words but Abhi's cries were increasing. Ashu was getting hell tensed thinking what would be happening inside. He banged the door, pleading Abhi to open the door. He put his ear on the door, trying to hear Abhi's words. Tears welled up in his eyes hearing that his twin is thinking him dead. Hearing his twins vulnerable cries, Ashu couldn't hold back his tears. That's when he saw Sid running towards him. Sid came there and he too started banging the door in panic. Whatever he heard had made him restless and his heart and mind was gripped with negative thoughts. The same was of Ashu's.

Sid: Ye door nahi khol raha. I need to see from the window. Mai pichese dekhta hu aur andar jaake door kholta hu.

Ashu was not even in the state to say anything. It seemed like he didn't hear any of the words and Sid seemed to be saying it to himself only. Sid ran at the backside and climbed a pipe by which he could peep inside from the window. Luckily the window was open. Sid went near it and peeped inside but whatever he saw inside increased his panic and shock. He froze in his place seeing the scene taking place in front of him.
