Chapter 24

Sid wiped his tears as well as of Ashu. Before he could say anything, his phone rang. He glanced at the caller id and frowned. Nevertheless he picked the call. Before he could say anything, the person on the other side spoke.

Call Conversation
Sm: Hello Siddharth? Tum kaha ho? Aur Abhi kaha hai? Mu-mujhe pata chala ki A-Abhi...

Sid: Vaishu shant. Please. Hum Sahyadri Hospital me hai. Abhay admitted hai. Mai phone pe jyada kuch nahi bata paunga. Tum yaha aao phir bataunga.

Vaishu: Ok. Mai aur Neet aa rahe hai.

Sid: Yes come.
Call ended

After 10 minutes or something, Vaishneet came into the hospital. They asked the receptionist about the cabin no and entered Abhi's cabin. Vaishneet's eyes welled up seeing Abhi attached with various wires and machines including saline and oxygen mask. He was looking so pale and covered in bandages. His hand and forehead was covered in big bandages. Vaishu slowly went near him and softly caressed his hairs. She had not noticed Ashu yet. Avu too went near Abhi, trying hard to control her cries. Vaishu hugged Abhi's unconscious body and cried hard. Sid comforted her, saying soothing words in her ear.

Ashu: I know it's hard for you, but control yourself. Dr has said not to make the surroundings too overwhelming or emotional. Even in his unconscious state, he cannot bear it.

Avu and Vaishu were shocked to hear a familiar voice like Abhi. Vaishu turned and that's when she saw Ashu. Vaishu clapped her hand on her mouth, eyes wide opened. Avu too gasped seeing him.

Vaishu: What's going on here? Wait a minute, are you Abhi's long lost twin?

Ashu nodded slightly.

Vaishu: But how come-?

Vaishu felt a shortage of words but Ashu understood what she ment. He sighed sadly.

Ashu: A long story! Will tell you another day.

Sid (guilty): V-vaishu, A-avu, I'm so sorry. Mujhe tum dono ki baat sunni chahiye thi. That Raghav-

Avu (cut him off): Sid, we got to know about Raghav being arrested. And don't worry, we forgive you as Raj told us, it was you who saved Abhi at the right time using your instincts.

Sid: Thank you Vaishu, Avu. How you come to know this late? Tum dono itne din the kaha?

Vaishu: Hum 1 week ke liye Manali gaye but our stay extended. Hum kal hi vapas aaye. Aur hume tum dono dikhe nahi. We thought nothing serious would have happened. Par jab hum hostel gaye to vaha bhi Abhi ya tum nahi the. Humne Raj se pucha to usne bataya k-ki Abhi...

She felt tearing up as she couldn't complete her sentence. Avu hugged her.

Avu: Par Sid, exactly kya hua tha? Aur tumhe Abhi ka twin kaise Mila? Wasn't he dead?

Sid: No he wasn't.

Sid told them how Ashu survived that accident and how he met him on FC Road where Sid misunderstood him as Abhi. Vaishneet gasped in shock.

Vaishu: P-par Sid, tumhe Raghav ka asli chehra kaise pata chala aur about Abhi attempting suicide?

Sid's eyes teared up remembering that day. If he wouldn't have reached on time, he would have still been hating Abhi and would have lost him forever. Ashu understood what was going on in his mind. He put his hand on Sid's shoulder, squeezing it gently to assure him that everything is alright. They are safe. Most importantly, Abhi is safe.

Vaishu: Sid please. Please batao mujhe ki mere Abhi ki ye halat kaise hui. Please. I beg you, Sid. Please.

Sid: Vaishu, Vaishu please. Kya kar rahi ho tum? Mai batata hu. Par please don't beg me. Us din jab mai Ashutosh se mila tab mujhe laga ki ye Abhay hi hai. I quarrelled with him. Par jab mera misconception clear hua to mai ise college leke gaya so that Abhi could meet his twin brother. Waha jake maine Raj se pucha Abhi ke bareme to usne bataya ki Abhi ya to uske room me ya phir backyard me hoga. Maine Raj ko Ashutosh ko humare hostel room ke taraf le jane ko bola aur mai khud backyard chala gaya use dhundne. Mere dil me ek ajeeb feeling aarahi thi jaise koi apna mujhse dur jane wala ho. Mai backyard ke taraf ja raha tha tab ek classroom se maine aawaj suni. 3-4 log has rahe the. Mai rukna nahi chahta tha par phir bhi unki baate sunne ruka jab maine Abhay ka mention suna. They were none other than Raghav and his friends.

Sid started crying, recollecting the harsh truth he witnessed. Ashu hugged him and rubbed his back. Vaishneet patiently waited for Sid to calm down and speak. Once Sid was calmed, Ashu offered him water which he drank in one go.

Sid: I'm sorry par jab bhi vo yaad aata hai, mai aur guilty feel karta hu Abhay pe trust na karne ke liye. I just can't believe ki maine apne Bhai pe shak kiya! I just regret saying those harsh words to him and even slapping him.

Avu: Sid, jo hua so hua. You don't stop saying. Hume batao ki tumne kya suna aur how did you expose Raghav? Kaise kiya tumne ye?

Vaishu: Ha Sid. Tumne kaise kiya ye?

Sid: ......
