Better days (JJxOC)

Good samaritan

I was really skeptic about going there, I was scared for JJ. Not that she can't handle herself, she's more than capable of doing that, but she's responsible for more than only her life now.

„Remember, you go in, get as much people out as you can and then leave," Rossi said.

„The children are your priority," Spencer reminded.

I knew we agreed not to tell anyone yet, but I couldn't just stand there and watch them send her into the lion's nest. So I spoke up while they were discussing the plan.

"Hotch she's pregnant," I told him closing my file.

"Shut up," JJ told me quietly putting her hand on my arm.

„Jayje, I'm sorry, but I'm not about to let you go in there," I said.

Everyone was shocked. Everyone besides Emily because she apparently already figured it out.

„Is this true?" Hotch asked looking at JJ.

„Yes," she sighed, „But I can still go in. I'll be fine."

I looked at her and sighed looking back to Hotch. He looked between the two of us and then nodded after a while.

„Alright, but if anything goes wrong we're pulling you out," he said.

I glared at him, „Aaron," I started.

He interrupted, „It's final, Prentiss. I need three people inside and I can't send the guys."

I nodded, „Fine. But if anything happens to her or that baby? That's on you," I said pointing at his chest and walked out of the room.

I cursed under my breath and left. I went to another room to be alone for a second before preparing for this stupid thing. It didn't go as planned because JJ followed me and closed the door behind her.

„No. Don't do that, don't try convincing me because this is wrong and you know it's wrong," I said leaning on the table edge.

„Maya I can make my own decisions," she said.

„Yes, but this is not a good decision. You don't know what will happen," I said, „Couldn't you just let me handle it?"

„Don't treat me like some situation that needs to be handled," she said.

„Fine, you wanna be the hero? Be the hero," I said, „Are you in some kind of self sabotage mode?"

„You really wanna go in there fighting?" She asked me.

„I don't wanna go in there at all!" I yelled.

„You volunteered," she told me.

„Yes, I know I did. But I'm stupid, I do stupid things because I have weird issues about proving myself!" I said.

„So this isn't about me going in, it's about your mother," she said sighing.

I scoffed, „No. Don't bring her into this. You wanna go in? Go in. I don't care," I said walking out of the room.

She outburst head in her hands and I heard her sigh before I closed the door and went to prepare. I changed my clothes to the ones the police provided for me and ripped the wires with a mic off of the shirt.

Emily was in there too, watching my moves and I felt her eyes on me the whole time. I tried to ignore her, but it was like her eyes were burning holes inside of me.

„What?" I asked turning to her.

„Fighting before going in isn't good. You'll be upset and distracted," she said.
