Stupid games

"I don't wanna go," I said spinning in a chair after Hotch and JJ left the room.

Everyone else was doing their own things because we didn't have much to do for now. I was waiting for the call to go check out the body. In the meantime we were just hanging out.

"Why not?" Emily asked.

I shrugged, "Pointless. We already have everything we need. You wouldn't know what I mean."

Emily raised her eyebrows, "I wouldn't know? Have I known you twenty seconds or twenty years?"

"I'll tell you later," I said simply.

Derek took a sip of his coffee, "Shouldn't have taken the case then."

"And be stuck with paperwork? Yeah, what an amazing idea," I told him rolling my eyes.

"Maya how did you get used to Emily and JJ living with you?" Spencer asked while shuffling cards.

"What do you mean Spencie?" I asked watching him do it.

"With added stuff to your apartment, with them moving things around out of their place. You know, just everything," he said looking up at me.

"Oh I didn't," I said, "I still lose my shit every time I see something where it shouldn't be. Why are you asking?"

"I'm having a little trouble with that," he told me softly, "And by little I mean a lot."

"Wait. Do you have someone?" I asked with my eyes widened.

"Yeah. We're not living together though," he said with a smile, "Why are you surprised?"

"Well, because you never said anything," I said in an obvious manner, "Better question, why are you asking me?"

"I think we're kinda alike," he said dealing the cards, "Just have slightly different brain structure."

I took the cards, "Hm, we will talk about that. But privately."

"Okay. And don't call me Spencie," he said.

"Are we playing poker?" Rossi asked taking his cards.

"Yes, prepare to lose," I told him with a proud smile.

"Alright. If you win I will buy you a year's supply of coke cans," David said, "But if I win you buy me any scotch of my choice."

I raised my eyebrows, "Wow, okay. Add year's cheetos supply to that and I'll take it."

We shook hands and everyone took a seat around the table and we started playing. We played a couple rounds, each minute Rossi got more and more frustrated. Along with Spencer for that matter.

I won both rounds and chuckled at them. Emily and Derek already knew they were gonna lose, but those two have a hard time accepting it. After we finished I got a text from Hotch telling me I should go now.

"Why did I even suggest that?" Rossi asked sighing.

I shrugged, "You play stupid games, you win stupid prizes."

Emily laughed and I smiled at her before getting ready to go. I grabbed car keys and my file. When I had everything ready I went to look for JJ.

I searched every room where someone was working and she wasn't there. She wasn't with Hotch either so I went to check out the only empty room at the station. And that's where I found her.

"Hey," I smiled, "Ready to go?"

She was sitting on a couch with her phone in her hands. She sighed before nodding and got up.
