[Jake is becoming more suspicious of you and you are conveniently called to a solo trial...]

_____
You yawned loudly as you sat up from the blanket you had been sleeping on, your side aching from the lumpy hard dirt underneath.

"Hey..." Yui whispered to you seated on a log, Dwight napping soundly in her lap.

You smiled weakly and shivered from the fire being almost diminished.

"How's he doing?" You whispered to Yui, shifting on the ground to where you were cross legged.

She lowered her head down to look at him, caressing his cheek with her fingers. She shrugged.

"I think it really messed him up...he hasn't spoken since he returned from the trial and he only stopped trembling because he fell asleep..." She spoke quietly in hushed tones.

You rested your head in your hands, closing your eyes - the familiar guilt poking and prodding at your side.

I should have just let the Ghostface hook Dwight...I shouldn't have gotten so emotional saying I hated him, maybe he wouldn't have killed Dwight by his own hand...Thoughts flooding your mind.

"Hey, it's not your fault. You tried everything you could to stop it." Yui said, noticing you were visibly upset.

You raised your head to meet her gaze and you searched her eyes, the desire to tell her the truth on the tip of your lips.

You realized you had witnessed your campfire team, all three of them, get killed by the Ghostface. You swallowed the lump that had developed in your throat.

There was movement coming from behind and you and Yui turned to see Jake walking carefully with a giant bundle of wood, cradled in his arms.

He made his way to the fire, placing a few logs in it's center and you watched as he took his fire starter out from his pocket, sparking the wood after a couple tries. He poked at the weak flames with a stick with familiar ease, embers shooting up in spindles.

He sighed, kneeling on one knee for some time before rising to sit next to Yui and Dwight. He looked down at Dwight with sympathy and concern, before pulling out his almost completed fox wooden figurine, giving it finishing touches with his survival knife.

You stare at him, waiting for him to acknowledge you but he didn't look up from his work. You squeezed your hands together in your lap feeling awkward.Yui continued to pet Dwights head as he slept, humming periodically.

Jake's voice broke the silence.

"The stealthy cloaked killer has managed to kill all of us by his own hand..." Jake's voice was low as he continued to carve at his figurine. He raised his head to glance at you before returning his focus to his work. "Except you that is..."

You swallowed and smiled awkwardly, unsure of what to say.

"And thankfully so." Yui said. "Its awful...and everyone deals with their first one differently. I can't even say it gets easier because of how unoften it happens." She looked at you with sympathy.

You nodded in agreement, glancing at Jake whose expression was grim. There was a brief moment of silence with just the sound of the fires crackling, filling the clearing.

"I keep in touch with other survivors at different campsites and spoke to Claudette who was in David's last known trial before he dissapeared. You and Yui were in that trial, I believe." He raised his head to look at you, and you nodded in response.

"Yes, yes we were." You said quietly, your hands numb from squeezing them together.

"Yes, I remember - she had rescued me off hook, the Legion was on our ass but Claudette had opened the gate and we were forced out. I don't even think King made it." Yui said.
