Chapter thirty-one: The date, pt1 🧡

"Oh, hey Isaac."

"She's almost done, come in."

Lando with a sunflower on his hands walks inside Sophie's apartment, ready to take her on a date.

"Here." He says and gives Lando a tote bag. "It's Sophie's things you asked for."

"Thank you for helping me. I just don't want to ruin the surprise until she sees it."

"I know she would like it, but you should thank my girlfriend, she forced me to help you."

"I'm guessing you also know where she's going to take me later." They both sit down at the table.

"Yes, I'm not going to tell you, I think you'll like it. If you don't, act like you do, she's excited to take you there, don't break her heart already."

"I'm not planning on breaking her heart... ever."

"You never know. I'm just saying that-"

"Hey!" A girl came out of the room. "I'm Lia, Isaac's girlfriend."

"Nice to meet you, thanks for forcing him to help me."

"Nice to meet you too, Lando, and you're welcome. Isaac, come on."

"Carefully, Norris. I have my eyes on you." Isaac said while leaving.

"Hey Bob."

Lando heard behind him, so he turned around to see Sophie came out behind her, looking beautiful as always.

"Hey, muppet. This is for you." He gives her the sunflower and his heart melts at the smile Sophie gave him.

"You remember my other favorite."

"Of course. But keep in mind I'm giving you this flower just because."

"What do you mean?"

"On that romantic list you have you wanted flowers just because, you can put a check on that now."

"It's very cute that you remembered that."

"Should we get going?"

She nodded and they walked out of the apartment. Once on the street, Lando opened the car door for her and she unlocked his door for him, like usual. They don't say it but they love how that small gesture became a usual thing to do between them. He gets in the car and puts Sophie's bag on the back seat.

"May I ask what's in my bag and why do you have it?"

"I ask Isaac for some things."

"How did you get him to help you?"

"I ask very nicely."

They laughed, Lando turned on the car and he drove away. He was very excited about the date, he found a place that he thinks Sophie would like and Isaac agreed with him. It was a sunny day and they were excited about what they planned for each other.

"I can hear the water, I know it's a water park."

"I know, but that's not the full surprise, just keep your eyes closed and walk."

"I don't have a bikini."

"Do you trust me?"

"Should I?"

"You have been with your eyes closed for a long time, it would be weird if you didn't trust me." He said, making her laugh.

Sophie has her eyes closed, since before arriving at the park, but the screams of people having fun and the sound of water made it pretty obvious where they were, but she still doesn't know what the 'full surprise' is. The more they walked the less people she heard but there was still water, like they were still at the park but with not many people around them.
