Part 67

Next morning.
Outskirts of Mumbai.
Mansi has already groomed to go to college and today she finds the day weird because Arpita hasn't woken up because she's usually the early bird that catches the worm she assumes that everything that's going on she's stressed and thinks she needs to lay for a while and she takes breakfast and finishes and goes to her room.

She finds it's locked fortunately she has a spare key to unlock the door what she sees gives a fright Arpita is on the bed unconscious and leaves everything aside and runs to her.

She tries tapping her but no response and pours water on her but nothing she screams for help fortunately a neighbor who's a paramedic comes and checks her.

"Mansi you've nothing to fear she's fine," said paramedic.
"Thanks sir....but what made her unconscious to begin with?"Mansi asked.
"The tests I have conducted on her.......it seems Arpita has been taking  a lot of sleeping tablets.....I guess she took much and had a relapse....but don't worry I have sedated her....she'll wake up after 3-5 hours....take care....I have errands to go.... good bye," paramedic explained.

He left.

"But....how?when?why?" Mansi asked rhetorical questions to herself.

She decided to stay beside and informed the lecturer that she won't be coming today.

Mumbai University.
Volunteer students , decorations committee and staff are making arrangements for the D_ day of academy day and everyone is in a good mood and they're going out.

Meanwhile.
Outskirts of Mumbai.
Arpita is waking up and sees Mansi beside her she was watching her that she might fell asleep in the process.

She's shocked to see her because it's a week day and she has classes and coincidentally Mansi wakes up.

"Sis.... please rest," said Mansi.
"I'm fine....I'll leave to go for work," replied Arpita getting out of bed.
"No excuses..... please rest.... paramedic clearly gave me instructions," responded Mansi.
"What happened to me?!" Arpita asked confused because she was feeling slightly weak.
"Well......I should be the one asking questions?" Mansi indirectly confronted.
"What do you mean....Mansi dear....why aren't at college?" Arpita asked.
"Because the paramedic made an analysis....he said you're taking sleeping tabs....that's why you're unconscious....since when sis....lately you've been behaving strangely and weirdly.... especially with the whole investigation case of Mr and Mrs Oberoi's missing child...why....I did answer," replied Mansi.

Arpita was on edge because of whatever she just said and sweat started being all over her face Mansi thought maybe she had a side effect on the sedatives and stopped her interrogation.

"I am sorry sis....I'll leave and you can take a rest," replied Mansi about to leave.

When Arpita stopped her.

"Yes sis....need anything for me to do," replied Mansi.

Arpita now wanted to make her chest lighter by spilling the beans because it's driving her crazy and to the edge.

"Please take a seat Mansi....you're right...I have been doing reckless things....it's high time....I spoke the truth.... please try understand me....where I came from.... please try not to judge me....if possible," Arpita responded.

"I can never do that sis.... you're an angel," replied Mansi.

"Okay....here I go.... fifteen years ago....dad was very I'll....yes I had a good job and a salary....but I couldn't afford to take him abroad for a transplant treatment....then there was this guy...his name was Karan....he was my neighbor....he offered to help me....in return for something....he wanted me to kidnap a baby at the hospital....yes....it was Shakti and Pinky's son.....I managed to do it successfully.....then we made Pinky to think she had a still born child....to cut the long story short....Karan asked me to get rid of the child.... because his boss....had a grudge with Oberoi's especially Pinky....but I wasn't that evil....after all I was human....I  placed him in a box....hoping and praying that a good Samaritan rescues the child and then lied to him that he was dead,"explained Arpita .

Mansi was shocked and confused with her revelation and kept quiet.

Arpita from looks of it thought that she thought she was monster.

She spoke," Sis whatever you did was wrong.....but I can never judge a book by its cover..... because when push comes to shove....we do desperate things....but I feel pity for the boy's parents.....I Know they aren't sleeping peacefully....so we have to go to the station and report this....am sure the police will assist us in this matter...they'll understand where you came from," replied Mansi.

"But you don't understand one thing.... Karan's boss is influential....what if she comes after me....or worse you....I can't bear losing you Mansi.... you're only family I have left....after dad's death," replied Arpita.

"No need to be scared....I'll go with you.... police will offer you the protection....so no harm  will come upon us....we just need to have faith.... remember something too...is never too late to do the right thing....I will always be there every step you make," replied Mansi.

Hearing these made her at peace and her burdens were weighed down a bit.

"So what do you say....sis?" Mansi asked.

"I say let's do this....you've made me realize my mistakes....I want to rectify them," Arpita replied.

"Thanks....will go tomorrow.... because you need rest," replied Mansi.
